OMG...new stock shocks are rough
I had my rear shocks installed yesterday, they are KYB (I think they are stock replacements?) , they say R-2 on them or something like that. My old shocks had 165k MILES so they were worn out I guess.
I could almost not bear the ride to work, the Jolting on rough highway is horrible. On a smooth road, they feel great. I also noticed the improved responsivness when making a quick turn.
The rear of my car sits higher than with my stock shocks, looks kinda odd.

With worn and blown-out shocks, the car will sit lower. The car *may* settle a bit after about a week with the new shocks, but not much.
Yeah, stock the 3rd gen had a pretty rough ride. But, you'll be amazed at the difference when you take a corner!
Did you get just plain vanilla KYB's, or actual stock shocks from the dealer?

David, you should take a ride in my car now that the HKS springs and Koni shocks are installed. Turning the shocks to a pretty firm setting results in a warning bell with a voice saying "Kidney damage iminent!".......

better get rid of the car and go with the late 70's cadillacliac fleetwood if you looking for a smooth ride.
But really, you drive a sports car dont you? dont you want it to handel like one?
iv driven other cars with GR-2's (im sure thats what you have.) and i have to say that im not impressed with that damper at all. its low speed damping is ok, but the highspeed damping is just crappy. i could feel the tires 'bounce' over large bumps because it wasnt properly dampend.

Did somebody forget about me rynberg? I'm very curious to know how both your car rides compared to mine. It seems unusually stiff for 93 base suspension......
-Dan
BTW, you still busy with the inlaws or what?

93s had the hardest suspension of the three years. I guarantee you that my new suspension rides MUCH harder than yours now....
BTW, yeah I forgot about you too...
