If you click my avatar, you'll see an old pic of my car on
18x10 ET 22 with 265/35-18 rears
18x9 ET 18 with 235/35-18 fronts
with -1.0* camber all the way around.
My old combo is slightly taller than stock. On 9.5's, you *could* do 285/30-18s for ~OEM circumference, but be prepared for a stiff sidewall and a harsher ride.

I appreciate the advice guys. The reason i chose the 9.5 is because i didnt want to run any kinda crazy camber or butcher my car with aftermarket fenders or cut the fenders to make them fit with that kinda offset, what kind of rubber do you guys suggest I run? I am looking at KDW's but would like some reviews from some guys on here to see what they think of them or if anyone has a better suggestion! Thanks guys

Advan AD08's if you want arguably the best performance street tire this side of a rock-hard-sidewall freeway-droning race tire. They're a little above the mean in $$$ but they're really fantastic tires. Considering the width you're likely to run and the FD's relatively low weight, wear shouldn't be a concern, and I think you'll be surprised. This is coming from someone with the word "DRIFT" on his license plate, but considering these tires are so sticky, I think "GRIP FD" would probably be more accurate

So you can rotate the wheels and get the most mileage out of the tires....that's why.
On the track tires will heat cycle themselves out of optimum performance long before the tread is shot.
For a street tire usually it's the tread that goes first. Thus the ability to rotate your wheels make 'em last onger.
I run 18x10 on all 4 corners.

^^Every street setup I've seen with 18x10 +50 in front has been at monster truck ride height to save the fenders. Another reason I've never been a big fan. Your turn

My 18x10 and 17x10 CCW Classics with 7.5 backspacing will fit an FD with stock suspension. You also don't need aftermarket trailing arms. Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec is a great tire to look into as well. You can run 275/35/18 on all 4 corners without issue and are fairly cheap relative to the other "street" tires out there. I ran this set up for a while on my silver FD a couple of years ago without issue with Tein HA coilovers. I don't remember my ride height(25 to 25.5in prob.), but I don't remember it being particularly high. That, of course, is relative to each individuals reasoning/taste. Kumho XS is also a good bang for your buck tire.

And I'm grossly offended you are inferring that my "princess" is a monster truck!
The again if you prefer that slammed-to-the-ground look for a street car might I suggest mounting a set of 195/60's on those 18x10" rims.
The wide wheels but with bicycle tires mounted seems to be the in-thing in the lands down unda. LOL. No concerns with fender rubbing!

Good info here by all.... to comment on B-diddy's post, the Star Specs absolutely crush the XS in the rain. They also look a helluva lot better on the rim too. I had Kumho XS for a bit on one set of Fikse and wasn't sad to see them go.

I purchased a set of wheels 18x9 +38 and 18x10.5 +44. I figured everything would fit properly, but now I'm worried about the trailing arm since one post mentioned 18x10 +50 needing aftermarket trailing arms. According to the calculator my wheels and the 18x10 +50 have the same back clearance by the trailing arms. I just need to confirm that aftermarket trailing arms are required with wheels that have the same clearance as 18x10 +50.

I'm no expert, but 18x10 +25 will not fit without rolled fenders and I'd assume stretched tires. The reason behind this would be the outer lip of the rim would most likely stick out past the stock rear quarter panel. If a proper size tire was on that wheel (265-285), the tire or the paint on the quarter panel would wind up getting damaged.

I know we're talking about 18x10's, but I have the chance to purchase some CCW's locally that are 18x10.5's with a 7.25" backspace(+38 offset). I'd like to put them on the back of my FD. 285's might be a bit stretched on that width of wheel and I'd also like something a bit taller to absorb some road bumps, etc, so I'm thinking of going with 295/30's. Will 295/30-18's on 10.5" +38 wheels fit on the back with a fender roll?

IMO the 285 doesnt look too stretched on the 10.5. IIRC its still within manufacturer specs. I certainly wouldnt get lumped in with the "hella flush mad tight" crowd by anyone.

I am running 18x10.5 +38 all around on my FD with 265/35-18.
Which I would not consider a stretch fitment as 10.5" is a recommended by most performance tire manufacturers in this tire size.
I had to roll the front fender lip under (I am at -1.6deg front camber) and the rear fender are still stock (-1.2 deg camber).
I calculated I would have to run -3.2 neg front (offset bushings) and -2.8 rear to fit 295 without any further fender work. A rear roll with pull might do it without any additional negative camber.
295/30-18 has SHORTER sidewall. I want to run it in R888 because it is a cheaper size than 265 or 285 and of course wider.

I think I might stick with an 18x10 or 10.5 +50 and run a 285/30 like most others. I want the wide tires but I don't want to be pulling fenders and such like I'll probably have to do with a +38 offset.

Here is a picture of my silver FD with 18x10 CCW's, stock trailing arms, no fender modifications(not even rolled), 275's all around, Tein Flex Coilovers
I understand both side of the discussion. My street wheels are 18x9 front and 18x10 rears(this picture was when I was still on H and R springs):
