I'd stick with a 245 / 45 / 16.
255 wide in 16" size is kind of an odd size, and you will not have that much options to choose from.

Yes, according to Rishie's chart on his site, the 17*8's are available in 20, 25, 33 & 35 offsets, and the 17*9's are available in 23, 25, 27, 33, & 35 offsets. That's one of the reasons I am going for the Pro Race 1.2's, they seem to be available in a wide variety of fitments. Tires are going to be 225/45/17's front and 255/40/17 in back, I am going by DigitalSynthesis's posting of your reccomendations from page 1 of this thread.

17" x 8.0", +27 up front
17" x 9.0", +35 in back
That should clear almost anything you throw at it, especially with those tire sizes.
You might need to slightly roll the front fenders for some clearance.

Ted, I've got a question for you about a set up, this is what i'd like. I'm willing to bend though, so bare with me. Remember, both set ups are with coilovers we'll say Tein Flex's for now (may change). The tires that will go on this set up will most likely be BFG T/A KD's. I understand that most people think 18's are too big, but this is what I want for MY car. Thanks for the help.

I'd like 18x10 all the way around, with a +45 mm front fender and a +30 rear flares.
My questions are:
1. What offsets will I need to run to have the wheels flush at the arch?
2. What tire sizes should I run with this?
3. Or is 18x10 up front totally out of the question?

What I'd bend to is; 18x9 fronts and 18x10 rears, with a +30 front fender and rear fender flares.
Again, questions are:
1. What offsets?
2. What tire sizes?
3. Would I even need the rear flare?

I'm very serious about this set up, so Ted, help me out here, please.

I still think the fronts are too tight.
I've never had much luck fitting 8.0", +35 up front for some odd reason.
I have a set of Advans that are 8.0", +33 and those get too close for my tastes.

Your 8.0", +34 might or might not fit, depending on the tire sidewall profile...

3mm to 5mm spacer should work.
Stick with at least a 225 / 45 / 17 tire on the 8.0" wide rim.
Hell, you can go with a 235 / 40 / 17 or 235 / 45 / 17 sized tire, if the spacer is at least 5mm (or more).

Nah, I don't like going with a "skinny" tire myself.

You should not need to roll the fender.

By the way, which spacer do you recommend? And do I need longer studs for having a 5mm spacer? I seacrhed thru. the web and there isnt anything that is hub centric for FC....

What would be the maximum tire size on the stock 15x6 91 Coupe Wheel?

 

I'd try and shoot for an 8.0", +30 up front.
I think that's the best spec.
This should handle a 225 wide tire no problem.

I stay away from spacers as much as possible.
This is why I jump on wheel sets that work with the FC without using spacers.

Although the hubcentric proponents are all right, I don't find it totally necessary to run them for a street vehicle.

(Boy is that going to stir up a hornets nest!)

The fronts can handle up to about a 1/4" spacer.
5mm is slightly under 1/4", so you don't need longer studs.
If you can change them out, by all means do so!
ARP makes them, and they are priced under $20 for a set of 5 (per corner).
If anything, they are stronger!

Well I am back to square one, the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's are apparently nearly impossible to get your hands on. Been looking around Tire Rack, but it's really irritating, they don't supply any offset information on their site. They claim the OZ Superturismo GT's in 18*8 all around will fit, I have my doubts. Going to call our Tire Rack rep Connor tomorrow and see if he can supply more detailed info. I don't know, 18"s are kinda big for an FC, but the 17"s aren't available in an 8" width.

 

I called Connor over at the Tire Rack, the Offsets for the Superturismo GT's in both 17x7 & 18x8 is 40mm. I was hoping to get the 18x8's and run them with 225/40-18 BFG t/a KDW's, will this fit? Been looking through the thread, but I didn't see this particular fitment discussed. Spacers don't bother me particularly, if they're necessary.

 

8.0", +40 will fit in back no problem.
They will not fit up front without a spacer.
We're talking like around 10mm of spacer u pfront.

I guess if I'm running the spacers in front I should run them in back too, just to keep the track even F/R?

That depends on the handling of the car, and how you like it...


Fronts should be okay, but the rears need to be replaced.
The rears are shorter than the fronts.
