Recommended tire size for the wheels listed above. 17x9 +38. Lowered on Bc racing coilovers. May possibly do spacers if needed once i get the wheels mounted. Thanks

Thanks again. I think Im going with he Bridgestone Potenza RE760. 245/40/17. I had the Potenza RE070 on my STI and loved them. Id get those but the closest size they make is 225/45/17

Konig Hypergrams
Hey Everyone,
I posted this in the non-technical section and realized there's another thread here, but I wanted to share just in case anyone is interested in these wheels.
I wanted a lightweight, but affordable wheel and this was a great option: The new Konig Hypergram. Got them from discount tire direct for $176/wheel. However, I think they're sold out right now because I double checked the site and they're gone. Great deal for a lightweight wheel considering the size and offset (~17.5lbs/wheel).
FR:
17x9, +25mm offset, 235/45/17 tire, +20mm wide front fenders
RR:
17x9, -5mm effective offset (installed 30mm spacer on +25mm wheel), 235/45/17 tire, +30mm wide rear over fenders
This setup could be run on a stock body with a fender pull front and rear (without the huge rear spacer of course, that's only there to match the over fenders I have). I have Fortune Auto coilovers so I can't confirm clearance to any other suspension types.

UpDATE: I went to pull the rx7 out of the Garage today to check out the wheels in the sun. Well yup, I need spacers. Im thinking that 10-12mm spacer will work (I hope). That was with the 245 series tires.
Cat wait to get the wheels sorted out so I can finally get paint done.

Anyone tried fitting 8" wheels with a +20 offset?
I know FC3SPro says +25 is max on 8" but wondered if anyone had any hands on experience with it.

Hey guys! Got most of the aspects of my fitment squared away. May go just a hair lower and out in the front. The front is 17x9 + 22 on a 205/40/17 and the rear is a 17x9.5 + 18 on a 215/40/17. No spacers required and did a pretty aggressive roll. No rubbing issues at all. Dropped on PBM coils. The wheel is rpf1, of course

Would this clear the front fenders or would I need a 10mm spacer and a fender role? Also what tire size would clear the front fender 225? I'm currently debating upgrading to RB Springs and KYB AGX shocks or jumping on a deal my friend is giving me on some Stance GR+ Pro coilovers.

No you don't need any spacers. You will need to add some negative camber to get the front tires under the front fenders. You will need a front fender roll and 225/40/17s will work. 225/45/17 is going to be cutting it close up front without the ability to get close to -2 degrees of camber, because of the height, but it depends on how low you are. 235/40/17 can work as well, but again the front camber is gonna be your challenge right now. I would go for the coilovers, they will give you the options of adding the negative camber you need, and more clearance to the strut.
I appreciate the insight! I'll go with the coilovers. Any different between the GR+Pros and the XR1 now on the stance website? Am I gaining/losing anything by buying their previous model?

With fortune giving you the option to choose your spring rate. Is there a certain spring rate that would allow me to keep the Racing Beat rear sway bar. I've read that many people remove the rear sway bar when running Front 9k+ rear 7k+. I really don't want to remove a piece of the suspension due to the spring rates.

If you have the RB front bar and up the spring rates you don’t need the rear bar. It will likely handle better without it. Big tires on a non turbo car is the only situation I’d say you might be able to keep it and see decent handling with the rear spring rate increase.
8/6 or 9/7 are good places to start with spring rates. If you are not going to track the car or value a bit better ride over handling, the 8/6 is good.

1990 GXL wheel fitment question
I have read this thread and don't see anyone running this set up. The drag thread shows some guys with my tires on stock wheels. Please let me know if this set up will work for me. I'm not looking to roll fenders.

Im running on 17x9.5 +15 on 215/40 all around. The front fenders need to be rolled more and the rear is maxed out low, sadly. Im planning on getting pbm coilovers to solve that gap problem. I know not alot of guys run mb battles on their fc (at least picture evidence). Battles are a cost effective way of getting good fitment/wheel spec without riding around on xxr's🤢

Hey guys looking at tossing the factory suspension for some eibach/tokico blues and was wonder if these rims will fit, what tire size will work and will I need to roll the fenders?
ESR SR05 IN17x8.5 17x9.5 STAGGERED

Thanks for the recommendation on the Fortune Auto coilovers. I've been enjoying them so far. Wheels are next along with Shineauto 30mm front fenders. Will I have any issues with the 17x9 +22 in the front? Thinking of 235/40/17 all around or is it best to run a bigger tire in the rear?
No problem. You don’t need Shine fenders to fit 235/40/17s up front on a 17x9+ 22. I’d run the 235s all around. You will need a front fender roll and -1.75 or more front camber. That is about the limit of offset you can run with the stock front fenders though. FWIW you can run a 17x9.5 in the +35-38 range with up to 255s all around with the Fortune Coilovers and stock fenders. The 9.5 +38 actually fits better, you may need a small spacer with it. I this on my car before I went 275 all around.

With that said is it possible to go 255/40 all around with 17x9 +35 stock fenders up front? and is it also possible to do the 17x9+22 (255/40) all around with the shineauto front fenders?
Are there any particular valve stems worth investing in and some that I should stay away from?
