those are actually water jetted hearse scrolls, because its a death trap. I guess you could get some if your car was fast enough to get you killed inside.

Cool Question

I started reading this 8 year long and still going thread today. I read the first 6-7 pages, then skipped to the end.

Most of the first pages that were written in 2001 are about 16"-17" wheels.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they think of this fitment:

18X8.5 +35 offset up front. 225 45 18 Tires (I have these laying around, not sure if they will clear)

18X9.5 +35 offset in the back. 265 25 18 Tires

Any ideas? On this? I am sure that the rear is probably ok, but I wonder about the front. I might be able to get a hold of a pair of 215 35 18 tires for the front, but that might be a pretty big stretch on 8.5's.

Yes they will fit. I actually have the same setup on my, stock suspension, 90 vert. The only difference is that my rear tires are 265/35 18. Here is a pic of how it looks.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Ohhh!.. alright. I'll concede - thats kinda cool.
I was waiting for you to tell me you had them custom machined to accept L.E.D.'s so they'd light-up too...

...and I beg to differ... my RX is fast enough to get me killed inside of it; ESPECIALLY with me driving!Name: post-1-1047683473.gif

Wow, thanks man, that looks like perfect fitment. What tire size is on the front? the 215 35 18 or 225 45 18?

Nice car by the way!

Satin black wrinkle finish with 14kt gold lip. wheel specs are possibly incorrect, i built them myself from parts i ordered from work. (rear wheel spec: 19x10 0mm outer lips+19x9.5 -12mm inner lips[around19x10.25], ultra low disc vs-xx center)235 35 19 fk452, front 19x8+28 high disc 225 30 19 fk452.. i know its not an rx7, but dude just hit the nail on the head on my wheel setup finish..

other dood...
target power for 09 summer is 650 wheel tq at a scrap metal skeleton weight of 2250 wet w/ driver, 9 gal of c16, and a 42lb bottle bolted in shotgun.

That front tire size is taller than the rear one. If it works though that's great. It's factory tire size on the RX8 and 350Z front, which is quite tall.

Typically for FC tire diameters you would want to stick with:

225/40/18 front
255/35/18 rear or 265/35/18

If you get coilovers it's doubtful that a 8.5" +35 will clear the suspension up front. just fyi.

Oh crap, my front tire is 225/40 18. The rear is 265/35 18. I need these size tires because all of the potholes here in chicago. Since the rear is 265 wide it didn't stretch on the rim so the walls of the front & rear almost match up.

You'll need at least a 5mm spacer in front to run 225's, and maybe 235's.

10-15mm spacer will allow 245's, but you may have to roll the inner lip of the fenders.

Flush fitment is relative, but a 10-15mm spacer will put you pretty close.

You can run a 245 in the rear with no problems.

I've got 17x7 wheels, +42 offset (I think). Tires: 215/40 front, 215/45 rear.

Right now they sit too far in. Would a 7/16" (11mm) spacer make much of a difference?

Would 225 tires fit with the 7/16" spacers?

(EDIT: I know I need longer studs with the spacers)

40 Sidewall is ideal.

You should be able to fit 225's with the spacers.

Whats the biggest wheel someones used on the rear with a 30mm over fender?

Will a 18x11 work?

What offset have you used if you do have 11s?

i am really into using stock wheels from other cars... was wondering about fitment from 17" wheels on newer miatas, camrys, maximas, and 300zx/350z.

any tips would be great. have some nice BMW wheels, but they are the wrong bolt pattern.

tried conquest wheels, but they have the wrong offset.

wow i seem to have killed this long lived thread... sorry.

BTW: i think i am getting a set of 17x7 G35 sedan wheels to put on my vert... they look like they will work, mounted them on car, and measured things. no tires on them so not sure of exact fitment, but it looks like i will have to run smaller front tires to clear. also is there a smaller dust cap for the front hubs? the centercap will not stay on the wheels with the dustcap in place.

For anyone running 9 wides front/ back any issues with rubbing?
I have a set of 17x9s with 255 wides and was thinking of throwing them on, but wasn't sure if anything needed trimmed. I do not have coilovers at this time, so if anyone has had experience, input would be greatly appreciated!
