They are both Volk TE-37.

The 17 inch rims are the older forging with more flat spokes and cut outs on the hub mounting surface instead of pockets. They were off a Japanese car and originally white- I had them powdercoated.

rb springs, kyb agx shocks

18x8 +38 all around, but im thinking 225/40 front, and 255/35 rear

sound doable?

im putting new fenders so I already rolled them before i primed them, I dont want to touch the rear quarters

You're going to need some spacers in the front, I'd go with some 5/16" ones, as that'll give you a 30mm offset, which is about perfect for an 8" wheel and 225 tire in front.

It's going to be really close up front, you may need a small spacer.

I think the 255/35 tire is a little to wide for a 8" wheel, you might want to step down a size, or run a wider wheel.

cant run a wider wheel, Im already committed to the wheels I have on hand.

the height of the 225/40 is 25.03
the height of the 255/35 is 25.09

I wonder if that .06 will make that much of a difference?

Nope, not at all. The bigger difference is in the factory size - 205/60/15 = 24.69. Or your new tire will be 1.6% bigger............. not bad actually

when you look at the specs on paper it does not seem bad, hopefully it translates well on the car.

when I have more time I will search this thread, but man it takes a while, lol

it will fit, but the rear tires will look taller, might be too tall, and the front tires will look real tiny

thats a sick car, i'll be installing my body kit this summer, i am running 18X8.5 +32 offset and 225/40 tires up front and 18X9.5 255/35 +25 offset on the back and that's a perfect fitment for the FC. car seatting on intrax springs.

It appears that this thread is way too long for me to read through, call me lazy if you want.

We are building an ITS 86 Base model RX7. Im looking through the rule book and they say you can run any wheel up to a 15 by 7 wheels.

I would like to run R888's and some reasonable wheels. I am still in the process of finding a 5 lug/four piston conversion and Im sure that will change the offset of the wheels and the type of wheel I can run compared to the 4 lug single piston caliper setup.

My question is what wheels are you all typically running (type and offsets) and whether your running 4 lug or 5 lug setup.

For an ITS car, a good start would be some Mustang V6 wheels (circa ~1996-2004), 15x7, 24mm offset and the correct 5x4.5" bolt pattern. They're not terribly light (I've read 16lbs), but lighter than steel wheels, but best of all they'll be cheap as hell and readily available. Lots of people use Kosei K1's for ITS, but they're not made any more. They'll let you fit about the widest tires possible under stock fenders (you may have to roll the fenders though).

My new (used) 17x9.5 +40 and 17x8.5 +30 with 275/40-17 and 255/40-17. I would get better pictures for you if it ran :P

I love the fit of your wheels, looks very well balanced and nicely tucked.

Do you have coilovers on there?

Also do you experience any rubbing?

thnx hybrid

R33 GTR 17x9 +30 all around, with 30mm spacer making them -0.

m-sports 30mm front fenders, rolled/pulled rears slighty.

also featured are volks GT-C 17x9 +28 with a 30mm spacer making the rears -3.

Running is *ahem* a relative term, but yes it is still REW UIM. :P

Thanks, JIC FLT-A2 w/ ~ -3 deg camber up front and -1 in the rear.

The blue SM2 TII doens't run, but I have the wheels on my CSP NA and they work very well. That car now has TRACTION lol.

Trying to decide on which tire to go with....rim is 17x9 for rear +38...pics would help me decide if anybody has any comparing a 255-40 or a 255-45 or even a 245-40 or 245-45....I would like the rim and tire to sit as flush as possible. Thanks in advance. Car is on RB springs and TOK-Blues.

You can run up to a 275 on a 9 inch wheel. 245/40 would look best because of the smaller sidewall, but 255's and 275's in 17inch sizes will have noticeably taller sidewalls. 255's only come in the 40 and 45 aspect ratios, 275's only come in 40's.

im lookin at a set of xd9's in 18x9 +20 and 18x10+18 and was wondering if these would fit under a stock body with a roll. And if possible, what tire sizes would make it fit? 225 up front and 235 rear?

That should fit fine with a pull, I'm don't think a roll with suffice.
