New wheels for the vert

I was looking to replace the stock wheels on my vert (stock vert wheels are 15"x6.5" with +38 offset with 205/60 R15) and it looks like my best plus size wheel fit would be +38 offset with 17"x 7.5" and 225/45 R17 tires. What do you guys think, will they fit as well as the stock wheels and tires?

Run 8's on 225's if you can, better transitional response.....

Vert suspension is the same as coupe suspension, so you can follow whatever other people have already done to the FC in terms of wheel fitment. You don't have to just "plus size" it.

My ideal rim width for tire is: tire width converted to inches from mm (divide by 25.4) subtracted by 1. (225/25.4) - 1 ~ 8 inches.

Conversely, my ideal tire width per wheel is wheel width + 1 converted to mm (multipl by 25.4)

Ususally, you try to fit as much wheel as you can without hitting the suspension or going past the fender. Once you've identified the wheel width you want, you can quickly calculate the rim size you should get.

However, if you already have wheels, note that the ideal tire does not provide as much grip as other options. Going as wide as you possibly can, tire-wise, will give you the most cornering grip. However, you do lose transitional response because too wide of a tire leads to a non-rigid sidewall, giving you all sorts of sidewall flex and what I term "squishyness" whille cornering.

+15 to +5 will work in the front with that skinny of a tire and the wider fenders.
+20 to +10 will work with a stock fender and some rolling/pulling

+35 will clear out back but a +25 would be more flush.
+15 will fit out back with such a skinny tire if you want some poke and roll the lip a little for a small flare at the edge.

wussy widths!
try 255 front and 275 rear!!!!!
(actually the fk452 runs a little wide from the ones I have seen so it will be like a traditional 235 front and 255 rear most likely, not too shabby, but definitely more of a comfy cruising type of tire, I had them on my kouki s14 240sx)

I'm running 18x9.5 ~ +6 on rolled stock front fenders, with 215/35.

235/40 in back on 18x10 +2... rear fenders are really pulled though, and still rub a little...

with those tire sizes about +15 all around would be good fit.

245' all around on a 17 - 18' deep dish rim. Any pics? What would be my best bet as far as handling goes? Would 225F/245R be a better idea?

So are skinny wheels, so why do people drop $2k+ on wide wheels then cheap out on tires? If it's about cheap then people would get some generic 17x7's and run on 205/50/17's.

I think it's one of the stupidest common things I've ever seen done to a car.

There's no way in hell that it's easier to mount a stretched tire like that compared to a tire that actually fits.

what is the point of stretching the tires? isn't more surface of the tire touches the ground give the car better handling and grip?

stop crying about your opinions on how you don't like tire stretch, people hate it and people love it just as much, so just stop.

You're about to receive a bunch of ill-legit opinions here, so I'll just throw out a fact: it is stiffer. Not grippier, just stiffer.
