off set ?

ok i have searched and can still not get how to add up off set when useing spacers

what i have is a s4 NA on 17x8 wheels and 245 40 17 tires at 42 off set

the gap from the fender is 37 mm with near factory camber specs

so my question is if i add a 37 mm spacer will that make it (37-42=15) 15 off set to get it to be flush with the fender

Its a +5 offset, each time you bring the wheel out its a negative when you bring the wheel in its positive.

245's on FD wheels with +18 (with 32mm spacers) barely hit the inside lip of the fender stock. Roll the inner lip just a tad and it is fine. About 1* of camber.
