Guys I can tell you that I have the 275/40/17 F1's that they talk about on my VETTKLR RX7 and they are incredible. Before I had 255's Sumitomo's on the rear and could smoke the tires in 2nd gear. Now it just launches and goes.

I autoxed the car for half a day last weekend and the tires did really well. I purchased them to have a good dry and wet tire instead of dry only. I am very happy and can say first hand that the tire is more than I hoped for.

I agree. I'm running 255/40 17" goodyear GS-D3's all the way around and I love them. Them have great traction wet and dry, are quiet and look tough to boot. I went from Yoko AVS pro's and they werent even close to these tires. In fact I get more traction in the rear from my 255 goodyears than I did with 275 yoko's!

I put 200 miles on these one weekend at the Rockingham HPDE and they did awesome. I have about 12K on them now and they are at about half tread.

No chance I will be putting anything else on my car next time. If you have a street driven car that you want to track 1-2 times per year without having a whole other set of tires I highly recommend these.

eugh tell me a system for the same price that can outperform a Bose Acoustimass system. An AM6 is 699.99 where I work so approx 583$ For all speakers and sub and all wiring.

But I do agree that Goodyears just don't cut it on the track yet cut your throat when you get home (wife sees the prices).

I have Pirelli's right now but next time around it will be between 5 tires.

This isn't the place to discuss Bose, but it is a widely held belief among audio enthusiasts and audiophiles that you can get better sound than Bose for less money. Considering how much Bose spends on marketing, that shouldn't come as a surprise. For instance, you can get a Hsu VT-12 system with an STF-1 sub for $500 (plently left over for good, cheap speaker wire), and I bet it would sound better than an AM6 system.

Don't get me started. If where you work sells Bose then you're at some mass market electronic store and have yet to hear what a proper system sounds like. And no, you don't have to spend a lot of money.

Buy a decent receiver like the Yamaha RXV-757. Yamaha has listened to requests from the custom side and installed pages worth of descreet functions (which are key for custom integration), 7.1 decoding, video switching, upconversion, 7x100 amplification with multi zone capabilities, self calibration, XM built in, and the list goes on. I actually just completed a Bose / PLasma installation in a kitchen about two weeks ago. The RF controller is nice until you try to integrate it into an IR control system. I found the sound to be impressive for the size of the speakers but then again I feel that the speakers are too small. Mid-range sound is lacking, I'm not a fan of system amplification internal to the sub because that creates issue when you want to mount the base unit and sub in two different parts of the room. Now I will say that most HTIB systems are lacking in many respects but Bose isn't the answer. The sound quality is decent but the has very poor expandabilty and really just lacks the kick that a surround system needs.

For 700 dollars you can buy a Decent receiver with component video/digital audio switching, mulitzone, surround etc and hook it up to a decent set of bookshelves, floor, or wallmounts via decent 22-24 gauge wire and have something that will sound a little better and allow for future expansion. With that being said 700 dollars will not buy you crystal clear audio but it'll get you a decent little system which is more than enough for the average listener, including myself.

While searching I saw a thread from Goodfella a year ago that indicated he might be going with Eagles, but haven't seen him post in this yet. Intend to replace my old KDWs this winter while the car's up. Anyone else wanting to weigh in (on tires)?

Sell Polk as well can't say anything against them great speakers.

I just understood and yes I find that the Bose Lifestyle systems (with the receiver are over priced to hell) That a good Yamaha or Pioneer amp and a Set of Polk Rm6900 would kill any lifestyle system every even the 38.

So we are all and agreement. No I don't work in some circuit city because at home I have a Rotel receiver with B&W speakers.

I finally chose the Falkens for my car can't wait for summer.

I went from some pretty worn Pirelli Asim's to some Toyo T1-R's... I'm still waiting for the cushy/floaty feeling to go away.

Actually, they're great for daily driving (if I did that sort of thing), as they make the I405 more bearable. I can finally hear myself think over the tire noise.
