I took rynberg's suggestion and went with 18x9.5's all around. Tires are 265/35-18 Kumho MX. The front tires rub the front of the fender liner slightly, but only at full lock. I haven't had any rubbing at the top of the fender liner after 2 days of driving. I'm happy with the way the car handles with this setup, but its going to take me a while to get used to the looks of 18's.
FWIW, the SSR/MX came out to 47lbs, one of my stock wheels with a worn out Yokohama A520 weighed in at 38.5lbs.

Kumho MXs seem to be "big" for their size....with another brand you may not experience rubbing at all. Your car looks fairly low up front as well. Oh well, rubbing only at full lock is acceptable...

 

what offset are you using?

 

Thanks guys. The MX's where 0.1 inch taller than most of the other 265/35-18 choices so that could account for the rubbing. I probably would have also picked a 17x9.5 over the 18x9.5 if that size was available.

The offset is +50 all around.

 

If the MXs are anything like the Ecsta Supras, it likely has a very square profile. A tire with more rounded shoulders, like the Dunlop SP9000s, might get rid of the slight touching at full lock. I wouldn't worry about it, looks like it's barely touching and should not cause any problems.

Very nice, it's a toss between the TE37s and these for me.

sharp wheels! i would have went 245 or 255 on the front.i prefer wider wheels on the rear.

 

god those rims are hawt. i have been in love with them since the day i saw them. congrats they looks great. oh and yes if you have kumhp tires and are rubbing chances are it is cuz kumhos are more "chunky" than other tires the same size

 

I would have preferred 255s in the front and 18x10.5 in the rear with 285s, but those still look awesome, and with that much good rubber, you'll be glued to the road.
