New kicks, Forgestar F14, FD RX7.

I noticed the Forgestar F14 at the beginning of the year, when I was contemplating getting a new set of kicks for my RX-7.( I'm kinda a wheel ***** ) Sold mine and sent the deposit. I spent days which seemed like weeks figuring out the offset I wanted. Offsets are ordered in 1mm increments, you get to decide. I wanted a aggressive look but didn't want to modify my body panels, more than a fender roll. Peter, at Forgestar, worked with me to get me the wheels as soon as he could. Just over a month, because these are custom ordered wheels. The wheels arrived, but I had to wait a little bit to have them mounted because UPS damaged one of the 18x11's, which happen's to be out of stock at the moment. None the less, I am extremely happy with them. They are very light weight, and the finish was excellent.

The damage was only cosmetic, so I decided to have them mounted today. The car needs a little more low and a good alignment. Overall, I am very happy with the look.

My car's fenders are rolled but otherwise completely stock , no pull. The suspension is stock besides the Apexi coilovers, even is still on the factory alignment settings (I've owned the car since 96).

Sizes:
Front, 18x10 +40 offset, 245/40/18 Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec's

Rear, 18x11 +44 offset, 275/35/18 Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec's

I am by no means a pro photographer, and the FD needs a bath desperately. Here are some pics.

The new Forgestars look great! I was thinking about going this route too, but there weren't any pictures to reference. I finally decided on a set of tried and true CCW Classics. If these had the ability to go polished lip, black face, I would have gotten them. Enjoy them

Very nice Fitment, tyre sizes, offsets, all seem perfect. What do these wheels cost roughly?

Looks great. Now you guys can start ordering them from me.

I'm surprised the 18x11 +44 doesn't hit your rear trailing arm. Did you get aftermarket trailing arms?

Thanks for the great comments!

As for price, It seems to very. Ebay being the highest, surprisingly. Contact Rishie @ Auto RnD, they sponsor this forum. He would've given me the next best price. I contacted Forgestar directly with some questions. Ended up being partially sponsored, with our other business cars having a similar deal.

I spent quite some time measuring offsets. I used my old Enkei Nto3m's, and a bare set of stock 93 rims. I came up with a nice generic cad layout and started measuring. Then I surched the forums for the "what works" fittings. I feel I ended up purchasing the offsets for the tire I wanted to run. I then played with the width of the rim to get the stretch I wanted. started out with the idea of 10" all around and ended up stuffing 11" in the rear. Might be able to fit the 11 in the front, Ill try that eventually.

I haven't adjusted my suspension geometry since I have owned the car. ( Purchased in 96, with 2000 Miles). The only thing I have done is change the ride hight. I know that the car needs an adjustment for as low as it sits now. This will be addressed shortly as will the ride hight. I need to machine out the bottom of my rear coils to go much lower. Front should be able to go lower, and I could change to a 255/35/18 to gain more Clarence.

Rishie, I appreciated your help very much. I actually hadn't read your previous post, before starting to type my last. Feel free to use my pics, or I would be happy to post them in your threads.

I did not get after market arms. That was one of my main measurements in the rear. I wanted these before a show, and didn't want to deal with that last minute. I can not get the thinest part of my finger between the rim and arm.

lolz, well since you're stretching tire you shouldn't have tire deflection issues. otherwise i'd be cautious under heavy corner loads.

Thanks and I already put a photo of your car on my Facebook Fan Page. yippeeee!!!!!!

Thanks again. I'll start updating some of the threads.

I figure I could run a pretty big tire with aftermarket arms and a fender pull or wide fender. I played on the safe side with my offsets.

You have Apexi coilovers, would it make a difference if I was to use the same set-up on stock shocks with lowering springs or Koni yellows with eibach pro-kit? I might seriously consider this set-up if I can find a way to import these wheels to my country if the cost is reasonable.

My springs are 2.5 inch in diameter. Are the stock springs 3.5? That would give you .500"(12.7 mm) of less clearence for stock springs.

I have no idea what stock springs are, I hope someone will chime in. I will buy Koni yellows with eibach prokit springs so fitment of wheels with that set-up is more important to me, but i assume eibach springs would be the same diameter as the oem springs, just shorter. Anyone?

Will it rub with 12.7mm (.5") clearence?

Those wheels look amazing, I love the fitment. Although for the most part I do not like the concave look on the front of an fd, yours just changed my mind. (At liest for that style wheel). .

These rims are nice and very light. I have the piano blacks staggered set-up 18x9.5 front and 19x11 rears. I'm going to be running molded Pettit rear flares. Rishie gave me the hook-up.

Nice ste up. I was thinking of running 19" in the rear, but already had tires.

Post a pic if you got any.
