New HOOSIERS cheap

After I ordered mine I figured I'd let some people in on a secret.

www.hoosiertire.com
and
www.tirerack.com

have put deep discounts on the old RS03 and AS03 Hoosier race tires. I bought 8 tires for $115/ea. If you've priced Hoosiers before you'll recognize that as a good deal.

Order quickly, there were only ~20 left at www.hoosiertire.com

I've searched the archives and can't find any info on whether a 335/30/18 will fit out back on an FD with Petit flares and custom 18x12 rims?

Anyone know this answer?

I'm calling Petit tomorrow and CCW as well.

I called Pettit and they confirmed a 335/30/18 will fit out back with their flare kit. Then called CCW and they said they have made 18x12.5" rims for the FD before....

Guess what? My wallet is going to get a lot lighter in the next few months.....

Ordered (2) R3S03 335/30/18's this morning. Only 107 tires left guys..... rep asked me if I had a Viper.... and I kindly replied I don't have a car that looks like a clown shoe... I have the nice looking FD RX-7.

Would the R3S03 be ok for a weeked fun car? How many miles are they expected to last? Or would it just be better to keep them for the track?

No, they are not ok for a weekend fun car. If you want an ultra-sticky tire for that purpose, the Toyo RA-1 would be much better.
