New Continental Sport Contacts
Hi,
just wanted you guys to know that I just got a set of Continental Sport Contacts (stock 205/55/16 front, 225/50/16 rear), and they are looking fine !!! These are asymetrical tires, with different compounds in different spots of the thread, very strong sidewalls, ZR rating (nice to be able to hit 150+ ) and very good "wet performance". Only thing is, I'm just checking them out, so I havent put them to any REAL test yet....
Only thing is that, although they are asymetrical (only one side can be "outside" and the thread is kinda "one-sided"), they are not directional, so on the left side of the car the thread points towards the front of the car, while on the right side the thread points to the rear. Shop assured me that this is correct, but I e-mailed Continental just to make sure and be safe. They got back to me with a nice reply saying that all's cool. That's the way it's supposed to be.
Cannt wait to put them to some REAL tests...

At the Mercedes Power Trip last year all the cars had Sport Contacts on them; they really impressed me. Great grip but still progressive enough at breakaway to not scare you.

Did you get the latest Conti-Sports? They have a brand new tread pattern out now...
