need just a lil help plz...

i just wanted 2 say first that im aware of the sticky, and websites like http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/wheels.html#OFF
and un4tunately im gettin lost amidst all the terms and math...

my question's real simple tho, so if anyone can help me w/ this, id REALLY appreciate it

im look at getting these 17 X 9.5 rims (all around), and imma b puttin 255/40s on the front, and 275/40s on the rear. this is all on a stock suspension etc

the rims have a offset of 40 all around... and that's wuts worrying me. (if it helps any, the rims are comin off a camaro/vette...)

the advice i got from one guy was that w/ that setup, id wanna get 45 - 50 offset in the rear, 35 - 40 offset in the front.

can someone help me out...will the 40 offset work? is it doable? or is it not worth it/not feasible?

im thinkin maybe the front will be fine, and in the rear i can use a spacer? (if so, i have no IDEA where id get a spacer...and the size of it, etc)
i have no IDEA when it comes 2 this kinda stuff...

thanx

Are you sure that GM's bolt pattern is the same as Mazda's? I thought they were different.

the bolt pattern is diff... theirs is a 5 X 4.5 i believe.. ours is a 5 X 114.3, which is slightly diff

but the rims im tryin 2 get are konig monsoons (yes, the official poor man's volk av3s lol) and i know many of their rims have a universal 4 lug or 5 lug bolt pattern... the guy im gettin the rims off of said it is a universal 5 lug bolt pattern...

(if this isn't true, plz lemme know lol cuz i know ive seen konigs w/ universal 4 lug, but ive never seen a konig w/ a universal 5 lug...)

do a metric conversion of 4.5" to millimeters and tell me what you get

you're gonna have trouble with those front wheels for sure I believe

<<do a metric conversion of 4.5" to millimeters and tell me what you get>>

lol my bad. it's actually 114.3 exactly, rite?
ok so i guess the camaros and vettes share our bolt pattern?

and as for the front wheels...is the offset too large or too small? ie, do i need 'em to be offset more than 40, or less than 40? (my friend told me the fronts should be 45 - 50 offset, which if that's correct, could i use a spacer? read bout that on one of the websites..)

EDIT...in my first post, the offset my friend told me was wrong. he told me 45 - 50 in the front, and 35 - 50 in the rear

A 9.5 wide wheel with a +40 offset will not work up front, you will rub against the fenders. They might work if you rolled the fenders. That size/offset wheel will work fine in the rear.

I suggest you don't get those wheels and try to get better quality and better fitting wheels.

And yes, the bolt pattern is the same, but I don't know about the centerbore.

10: +50 (with aftermarket coil-overs)

10: +45 to +50
