Need Help Choosing Rims (not a "help me find right size" thread)
I've been doing mad research on rims for my FD. I have a budget of about $1100 max because I'm wanting to also purchase some coilovers. New/used doesn't matter to me. I know what sizes fit so I'm wanting to go with either 17x9-10 or 18x9-10. Also they must be in bronze. I love the color on a red FD. The issue I am having is that I'm not really a wheels kind of guy so don't really know what is out there for that price. I was counting on the 5zigen FN01RC's because I love the look, color, and price but they won't be available until November. I have to get rims soon because I had a blowout on my right rear and finding good 245/45's is a PITA and sense I will be upgrading rims soon anyway I don't want to spend money on new rear tires when I will do it in the near future.
I really like Enkei RPF1 but they do not come in bronze. I've looked at Rota's but people say they are a shitty rim. The 5Zigens are unavailable. So what choices am I looking at? Can ya'll give me some recommendations...

The reason why people say Rota's are shitty rims is only because of that one picture floating around on the internet where all the spokes broke off, this was due because the car had a really bad accident.
I know a lot of people running Rota's and have had no problems, even the guys that off road their Subaru's and the wheels are still in one piece.
I for one am running Rota's and have no problems at all...I love them..
Not everybody is willing to drop 3g's on wheels and Rota's are a cheap alternative.
Let the flaming begin...LOL..

Thanks Mahjik I was looking at those and they look pretty cool.
And wow Kai...I feel like this is crazy talk coming from you...Mr. Authentic Amemiya and what not. But cool. I didn't know you were running Rota's. When did you do that? I've seen a few pics of Rota's being broken but perhaps there quality has gotten better. I wish I could drop 2k on some sweet 18 in Brone Work Emotion CR Kai's right now. That is the rim I will get when I do all my exterior work (Full FEED widebody) but for now I just need something to replace my stock ones with. I like the Bronze Rota Grids and the DTP's. Basically they are Volk T37 and Volk CN28 knockoffs. I'll keep looking into these.
Any other suggestions

DMoney,
I think Rota's are fine for the street, unless you are a Honda owner who likes trying to drift and running into curbs. On the track, IMO, they are ok for the lighter weight cars (Miata, Elise/Exige, etc). I don't think they are quite suited on the track for heavier cars but they are cheap enough (and readily available) that you can replace them in the event something happens to one.
If you look at some of the Subaru forums, you'll see a lot of those guys use them for cheap rally wheels.
