Need help with 82 front susp rebuild

my 82 front end drives me instead of me driving it. My alignment is fine but my steering wheel is very loose and puts my car all over the road. i still have factory wheels. could my problem be solved by replacing all of my front susp bushings and the bushings inside the steering 'box' so i call it? the 'box' is located under the brake booster with one nut to loosen. and if so, are the energy suspension bushings from victoria british any good? i would appreciate experienced advice on this one!

Go to the 1st gen section, you'll get more help there.

"Wandering" steering is a very common problem on 1st gens, and it can be tightened somewhat. There is a good webpage out tehre that explains it, unfortunately I don't have the link.
