Need a good 17" tire

Well the wire tire frame finaly started showing on my front left tire so it's time for need tires.

was looking for a good 17" rim tire with good life and lots of grip, not sure what to over all size will be, someoen told me 225/50/17 and other say 215/45/17. hope someone that knows more will help me out on that part. cars not at my house so i can't go look at the tire size.

was looking at some Falken Azenis Rt 615 but the tire life is only a 200 rating =/
or Falken Fk452

well how wide is the actual rim? i would recommend looking at some Toyo Proxes 4s they have great wet and dry traction and the life is pretty good. i actually work for a tire company and everyone that works there with a car has these tires and im getting them as soon as i get the money. from what i have felt riding with them the wet traction is better then the dry. now back to my question.... the width of the rim is big. if you have a narrow rim then i wouldnt suggest going with the 225 width. if you are running about a 7 in wide rim you can go with either depending on how much sidewall you want. 50 series will give a little bit softer ride, but will handle a little bit less due to the sidewall being less rigid. 45 series is a shorter sidewall and will be a bit tighter. you will notice a bit more of the bumps on the road. if you have anymore questions just pm me and i will get back to you on it. good luck.

so you dont have the rims around you? the dimensions might be on the back of the face of the wheel. it will have 17X(insert size here) and it might even have the off set. +(insert number here). if you dont have the rims.... you might just have to wait till you get the rims till you can decide on the tire size.

Kumho SPT's are great tires. Good dry grip, great wet grip, cheap, durable. You can't really ask for more in a tire other than more grip, but then it will wear out much faster. I had some Falken FK-451's and found that they wore out much more quickly than anticipated and lost a fair bit of grip when they got worn down, and I'd expect the 452's to be similiar.

As for sizes, 225/45/17, 215/45/17, or 205/50/17, all have sidewalls of similiar height, and are the correct diameter (as close as can be had). Depending on your wheel width and offset I'd reccomend against getting 225's, as they might rub.

Seriously, get the SPT's you won't regret it!
