The widest tire in a proper diameter that can fit on a 7-inch rim will be a 225/50. I don't think that will fit on the front of a stock suspension FC but I'm sure Rishie or another FC guy will chime in.
I have K2RD.com coilover suspension and am running 225/50/16's up front and 245/45/16's out back on T2 16x7 rims. The fronts are great.... the rears bulge over a little and are probably not the best setup for handling.
225/50/16 all the way around is about the limit on the 16x7" T2 rim within reason.
