My Struts are ghetto rigged?

Hey all I have kyb agx gas struts on my car. They are 8 way adjustable i think.. Anyways I just noticed a squeaking sound in the rear right strut at the top under the speaker. (Own an 88 fc) I removed the speaker to find that someone used cut up radiator hosing to keep the top part of the strut that pokes through from moving. Do I need a bushing or somthing?

i honestly dont know.. but i think you answered your own question... go to a parts store and look on thier car data base, comp in the corner.. it will tell you any replaceable parts. i just did a quick look and here is a good place to start. email thier tech and ask also. for future reference, people on these boards like to help with harder stuff mostly. this is something easily remedied by a little research. look at my posted threads if you want to see some of the dumb stuff i used to ask.

The stock upper strut mount in the rear has some sort of RTV type stuff on it. If you re-use the rear upper strut mounts as-is, you'll get a lot of squeaking as they slide around metal to metal.

I always put a bead of grey RTV on the strut mount - solves the problem. The rubber hose is a pretty ghetto way to do it, though .
