I have these Aragostas fitted to my FD
see www.stresseze.com.au
I am a novice race driver but having a ball and the car has been doing very fast times here in Australia.
Even with me behind the wheel.
So maybe they are pretty good.
But with my inexperience I am not sure.
Someone told me Mazdaspeed use them?
The springs say Merwede
They are the same colour as the ones you just bought.
The rears say 250 45 75
I assume the 250 is 250mm high but whats the 45 and 75?
Anybody know?
If it is 45 Kg /mm for the first bit of the compression and 75 kg /mm for the second progression etc, what is that in pounds?
I have googled it and researched it for hours but info is scarce.
I would love to know the pound imperial/rating of these.
The fronts say 210 73 103
Does anybody know much about Aragostas?
I have tried to search this site but not much luck other then this new post.
THANK YOU and regards from Down Under.

Munroman... Yea, I did a lot of searching myself, and unless you speak japanese your going to have a hard time finding info on these coilovers.

this is what I got with the shocks..

from what I can translate..

Toe: FRONT IN 2mm REAR IN 2mm
Spring Rate: FRONT 210-73-10.3 REAR 250-39-7.8
Tire Size: FRONT 235/45 R17 REAR 255/40 R17
Tire Pressure: FRONT 2.1 kg f/c REAR 2.1 kg f/c
Shock position:
Street FRONT #8 REAR #8
Winding FRONT #6 REAR #5
Circut FRONT #4 REAR #3
Distance from grount to fender: FRONT 645 REAR 655
How much lower then stock(think thats the translation) 30
How much adjustment you have: FRONT +/- 10mm REAR +/- 10mm

fwiw...

The springs look to be a progressive spring on the ones in your first pic. I say that b/c of the way the spring is wound with uneven lengths between the coils. That might be why you are having difficulty figuring out the spring rates and such.

The other set look to have regular linear rate springs.

mmm good eye.. I'm going to try these springs out for a while and see how I like them. If I need to I'll just have them revalved and get new springs.

Have we figured out what is better? progressive or linear? or is it still what the driver likes? think the shocks on my car now are linear.. havnt really looked. =/

Better depends on intended use and perhaps also driver preference with regards to progressive or linear spring rates. They are different and offer different handling and ride characteristics.

Shocks are not progressive rate. Springs are.
