My 88 t2 out handles my 93 r1??
Well i just got my 93 r1 and just getting some seat time. Before i had my 88 turbo 2 and it has stock suspension and 215 55 16 tires and i could take this one exit at around 60-65 entering. Well with the r1 it has the stock tire sizes and stock suspension and i have to go 50 or less or the rear will side out . My t2 the front would break lose before the rear. I thought the fd's handled just as well. And is there a adjustment i can make, i noticed these tick marks on the rear suspensions arms and wondering what they do since one side is at a different mark than the other side and wondering if that makes a difference. I am thinking of going with wider tires. Thanks

The t2 is good went past a couple of those speed radar box things and it was only like 1mph off. The r1 i am not sure but if anything it is showing faster than it is going i believe but it does have the stock tires and rear so i would think it would be pretty accurate.

my fc speedo is accurate at low speeds but not as I get higher. I have a gps that tells me my speed and my speedo runs like 8-9mph higher than my gps when im above about 45mph.

Really doubt the speedo is making me think it doesnt handle better. My fc was alot more stable than the fd wish my fc didnt blow or i would drive the two and take videos and show you guys the turn and the difference in the handling. The fd rear breaks loose way to easy compared to the fc power has alittle to do with it but it is entering the turn and not on power the car feels stable untill i go to take the turn and rear breaks loose and i am sideways .

Well on the t2 i had some used tires i got from the dealer i work for needed tires they were bridgestone turenzas 215 55 16 nothing special and on the fd it has Ventus HRII 225 50 16(never heard of them) which i have no idea how good they are have a decent tread pattern and in decent shape and good amount of tread left. I do not know how the fd is suppose to handle which dont help i am going to try new tires soon and see if that makes a big difference.

Well, there's probably something wrong with your FD... The comparision should easily go to the FD for many different reasons. Now, if your FC had aftermarket suspension components vs. a stock FD, then yeah, the FC could perform better... It's probably the generic tires on your FD or something (like) blown rear-struts.

I recently worked on an FD that a kid had just bought and it handled worse than my 95 corolla work car. Came to find out that there was no front sway bar installed on the car. Also the suspension and bushings were extremely worn and the tires very old.
I'd reccomend making sure your sways are there and connected, and maybe spring for a new spring/shock or coilover combo. It seems the FD suspension, especially the touring, wears out quite a bit after 13+ years.

Well it is not a sharp exit it is a big loop it is rated as a either 35 or 40mph turn i have to do it when no one else is around. I didnt think it would be pushing the 93 to the extreme of spining my 88 took the turn with out a problem and not pushing it close but definitly not to the spining extreme. But yes rted it is still wrong i am going over the rated speed and it could lead to serious injury if something for some old reason were to fail and kids do not try this at home.

a cars handling ability doesnt have a whole lot of influence in a steady corner. the main factors are the tires, alignment, center of gravity (no real difference here), and maybe the shocks if they are totally trashed.
i would blame the tires for the speed difference in the corner, or possibly a realyl bad alignment. how the car transfers from side to side is where the cars suspension plays its game.
as a quick example, look at skid pad ratings. modern suv's get better scores than the fc did back in 86. factory tires were **** back then.

^ That is a good point, my alignment i know in the front is off my steering wheel is really off and like i said earlier the alignment marks on the rear suspension do not match up and was trying to find out where they should be. I think it has something to do with weight transfer(shocks,springs,or sway bars) because it breaks loose right after i enter the turn.
