Majority of people go for spring and shock combo's, although the more popular ones I have seen as of late has been Tein, but more recently (with great reviews) Zeal coilovers. I recently just acuired a set of their coilovers, and am awaiting to review them. I chose them not only because they were a great product (quality, build, reputation), but the many people I touched basis with from Endless, to their master distributor, were totally dedicated to getting me the information I requested. A lot of the other big name companies thought I was just some joe schmoe trying to sound like I was buying, so didn't give me the time of day. Zeal however, was just. . . . .well, great! I spent over 4 hours on the phone in one day, and not once did I hear a sigh, or anything that implied that I needed to get lost because I didn't plan on buying at that exact moment.

Oh, and a few other companies are tanabe, jic, and cusco. Run a search for "coilover," you will get much information that you are looking for.

cirquis,

what's your budget??? You keep asking for the most popular items but where are you on your build of your car?? Maybe the question you should be asking is what you would like out of your FD within your financial constraints.

I have no financial restraints...just trying to get an idea on the demand in the U.S. market. I work for a tuning shop in Chiba, Japan and our company plans to open a shop selling original performance parts. Our company is pretty well known in the industry from the major competitors. The majority of competitors ie: HKS, TRUST, RE AMEMIYA, etc... are not too popular with the hardcore consumers...because the reality is that the tuning shops are producing higher quality products. Cicuit racing has been in demand for the past 5 years which I hear is going to be introduced to the U.S in December. We figure that since our company is well known in that arena to give the U.S. market a shot. As for our competitors...RE is well known but the reality is that besides Mr. AMEMIYA's show cars...the remaining batch of body kits, etc... are all made in China or Taiwan. The cost of manufacturing in Japan is sooo expensive which is probably you wonder why does it cost $800 for a front bumper compared to getting cheaper kits in the U.S. market... I will keep you all posted when we land in the U.S... also we will be debuting the 1st 1977 Nissan Skyline Japan within the next few months(currently in full restoration).

People in the US market will buy whatever they think is the best value. We don't have as many choices so if you bring a few good brands over that nobody else carries you will do well. If you sell the same stuff we can already get it will just be a price war with other vendors.

circuit racing has been big in japan for the past 4-5 years...a brand that i really popular is not one of the major corp models but made from garage companies...their prices are high: about $3500 and up for coilovers... brands at average $1500 are considered the cheap brands... i'm looking into bring a few brands that is unavailable in the u.s. market... thanks you all your help.

Just bring over the Ohlins and Aragostas, that would make a few of us here VERY happy (well at least I would be). But another thing to consider is how they would be rebuilt. Tein I feel is so popular because the revalving can be done in the US as opposed to most other brands. No one wants to spend an arm and a leg shipping the unit to be rebuilt every few years.

The only coilovers I am considering for my road racing car are:

Endless Zeal Functions $$
Moton $$$
Dynamic Suspensions $$$$
