Miata brake assembly interchangable w/ 1st Gen's?

im asking this question for a friend with a first gen.

he wants a 5 lug setup with miata tires, so he wants to completly change over the entire brake assembly to make this possible.

so what im asking is..could he do the conversion with no problems. he says it should work but he wants some knowledgeable input beforehand

thx ahead of time
