RC-1 255 does not look as bulged on my 8.5" wide front wheel as the 255 NT01 but unlike the NT01 it has a rim protector flange- so that is likely why.

The RC-1 rim protector flange does limit my camber a bit more than on the NT01 because I used to put my coilover spring perch right at the dip in the NT01 sidewall between the rim bead and the sidewall bulge.

Also, the RC-1 mounted looks like it has more of a square shape across the tread width- not necessarily the best thing on a camber challenged car like the FC.- great for the FD.

Now that I think about it, the braking of the FC with the RC-1 does not feel as good as new NT01, it feels more like NT01 when they are worn down to slicks.

Maybe I will try a little lower front tire pressure as the tread scuffing is still just over 1/8" away from the indicator triangle.

Last race weekend I ended up around 35psi front/30psi rear hot pressure which is now at 29psi front/25psi rear cold pressure.

The 255 looks fabulous on the 9.5" wide rear, like it was meant to be- not pulled away at the bead flange, but a nice small angle from rim protector flange to sidewall.

I see now the 275/35-17 RC-1 is probably about the same width as the 255/40-17 RC-1 as it is only 0.3" wider section width on a 0.5" wider measured rim size. Since it is also 0.2" shorter, I might actually prefer that over the 255/40-17 up front/rear as you suggested.

I'm not sure about finding a magic tire, but I am all about finding the best compromise for the driving I do on the car I have. So far I am still liking the Maxxis RC-1.

I am sure I will have more to say about them after driving them 400 miles round trip and racing on them this weekend.

I'm interested in your thoughts after this weekend.
