Mandeville Big Brake kit

i am totally unaffiliated w whomever is selling it in the 3rd gen classifieds but someone who is tracking their car and is running stock front brakes should grab this setup right now. the fd needs a bigger front rotor not necessarily a larger front caliper. this is a really nice package for $800 asked...

Already snapped those babies up howard

Now, I need to determine if they will fit with my Fikses (caliper clearance). I know the stoptechs won't fit by 1 damn millimeter. Based on the fact that Mandeville widens the calipers, I don't think these babies will fit, and I really am not too jazzed about spacers. Any advice?

Besides using a spacer, the only other choice I can think of is grinding on the calipers. I think I'd rather go with a spacer!

If the calipers won't fit by 1mm (Roughly .04") just have a thin spacer machined. Something along the lines of .1-.125". Someone may already make a .125" spacer, but I havn't came across one.

If you do end up needing a spacer, and can't find one that thin, PM me. I can machine a set for you if you'd like.

Don't forget that wheels flex when resolving caliper clearance. I am not sure how much space to leave to account for that flexing, but you should definitely leave some. Perhaps someone with experience in this area can share their experience.

$800 is not exactly cheap when you can get stoptech for $1500 or so new?

We always allow for 3-5mm additional clearance for the "wheel deflection". This is per all our Japanese Manuf standards.

I test fitted the kit tonight with my Fikses, and they *do* fit.....but just barely. The rim will spin freely, but man oh man is it tight. I think I'll try some 3mm spacers and keep my fingers crossed with regard to rubbing on the fenders.

Also, I weighed the stock brake rotors and the coleman rotors, and they both came in at 13 pounds.

3mm spacers

You can buy some 3mm spacers for $29 from http://supercar-engineering.com/sc2/...900a371b7c0eb3

They use the same bolt pattern.
