M2 Rear Strut Brace Question
I just bought a used M2 rear stb for 3rd gen, and have 3 questions:
- Can I remove my R-1's stock rear stb and install the M2 piece without screwing up the car's rear alignment?
- The M2 brace is hinged at each end; I assume I install the brace with the two hinge bolts loosened and then tighten them up afterward. Right?
- Anyone know the thread size of the bolts that are the seat belt anchors on the stb?
TIA,

you won't screw up the alignment by removing and installing a strut bar. that's what i was told by my alignment guy so no need to worry about that. with every strut bar i've ever had yes you loosen up the hinged ends, set it up, and tighten them last.

I think your installation procedure should work, or you can remove the center bar, install the plates, and then bolt the bar in.
You won't need an alignment.
I think seat belt and harness threads might be a "standard" size, because the eye bolts I got from Racer Wholesale fit both the strut bar and were the same size as the stock seat belt mounting bolts. I don't remember the thread size, but if you order from Racer Wholesale they will fit. RW has a good price on a Sabelt 6-point cam-lock belt, too. Get some snap clips for mounting and some pads, too, or your shoulders will be sore from the belts. The anti-sub straps can be mounted to the stock seat belt mounting points (using eye bolts) along with the lap belts. Just slide the sub belts forward through the seat at hinge point.
