As far as I can tell. They look identical except for the finish. And, of course, M2 uses Eibach springs.

In other words, neither product appears to be superior, although if you get M2's, I strongly recommend greasing the collar bolts or replacing with better hardware as they rust easily (and can get jammed in the collar).

I believe the FD's standard GC Eibach ERS rates are 550/450 respectively.

Yep- that's the recommended rate. You may want to adjust this, however. I use 650 front and 450 rear. Some like softer rates as well. Do a search on spring rates- lots of good information.

Are you talking about the coilover kit or the true coilovers? You can secify any spring rate you want. I'm runing 550/450lb now. Might go a bit stiffer in the future. Does the 650 up front make it understeer more?

We were discussing M2's coilover "kit" and GC's. Of course, you can get any spring rate you want.

I use the 650's up front primarily due to suspension settings and tires/wheels (18x10 all 4 on 285-30s). This reduces understeer, particularly at auto-X. Very much like stiffening the front anti-roll bar (ARB), but with stiffer front springs and the same ARB setting you, in effect, reduce the front suspension's ARB dependence.
