Question Lug Nut problems

The car came with some Socket Lug lug nuts that uses a special key to take it off. While i was installing my new rims i broke the Key. I been to 4 different import store and they dont have the key or anything. Any help to take these lug nuts off by any chance?

Thank You

Find a 12 point socket that won't quite fit around the lock lug and hammer it on. Remove lug with breaker bar.

Good advice.

Just loosen the lug nut enough to remove it by hand. Then, use the same hammer to remove the socket from the nut. Use a craftsman socket. If you break it, you can get a new one for free.

Pep Boys sells special sockets for removing wheel locks. The are conical on the inside with clockwise threads on the inside of the cone. They aren't that expensive either. (Which makes me nervous about the value of my wheel locks.)

I would try those.

What if you just return them with lugs permanently stuck inside them?

"I don't know what happened, but this socket is obviously no good any longer"

That's pretty funny!!

Maybe you could get Sears to pay for the damage that THEIR defective socket did to your lug nut too!!

The first thing I do with a new car is remove the stupid wheel locks. I have had a set of "McGard" locks split on the vehicle. They jammed in the holes in the aluminum wheels. I was lucky to get them out! Junk!!!! Like any of these things are going to stop a thief! They come prepared if they are looking for your wheels, and if Pep Boys sell those sockets, well, you know the thief has them!

Yeah breakin them off like u guys advice would be my last resort. BTW, these aren't the stock dealer wheel lock these are the stupid TUNER Lug Nuts which is Narrow for aftermarket rims. I'm goin to ask my friend who has the same lug nuts and see if i can use theirs for to remove it. Oh yeah u guys kno how much dealer charge for lug nuts?

This just happened to me.

Go to the dealership and get the master key. My local Mazda dealer let me borrow the key if I left a 10 dollar deposit.

The stock Mazda ones have to be the worst idea I have ever seen. The inside of the key is super weak and of course is going to break. Another good one for Mazda. Idiots
