Is there a way to lower an FD and keep the stock springs?

Yeah, put Konis on. They have adjustable perches.

Oh, that's good advice...

BTW, what's so smart *** about the google comment. Jesus, you people are #%@ lazy. I mean, it's www.koni.com, how hard is that to figure out?

Also, with the stock springs, you probably can't use the lower perch settings up front with the Koni's or you will rub. BTW, you do know that you can get performance springs that lower your car an inch and only cost a little over 200 bones, less for used ones in the classifieds....

I just called you a SA because you sounded sarcastic and someone who doesnt waht to throw $200 for a set of springs probably isnt gonna spend $350 for a set of Koni's.

I'm gonna buy up all the stock springs i can find for $5 each, cut off half a coil and sell them as 'Eyebach' Racing Springs. Nobody would ever know the difference. Hell ! they might work better.

Just curious, is there any particular reason you want to keep the stock springs?

Using H&R, Eibach, Racing Beat or some of the other aftermarket springs is a good way to lower the car as well as add better handling.

Well, I have R1 springs, so I thought they were comparable to aftermarket lowered springs.

R1 springs are absolutely identical to other springs from 93. All models have the same springs -- it is basically just the shocks that were different across the model line. The springs were softened ever so slightly in 94, but it was only a few pounds difference and probably not significant.

If you found a set for $300 buy every single one they have.

Thanks for that info. I had been curious as to the model and shock and spring rates.

We put H&R springs on a 94 touring, at the same time we installed some shock from an R-1.
Car handles great, rides just as good as stock setup, and is 1-1/2 inches or more lower. Also it took less than 4 hours to do the entire job.
