Looking at wheels, these really worth it?

Ok, well I've been looking for wheels for my FD and I'm having trouble. I don't really have a high budget where I am able to buy the lightest and best wheels but I want something that'll look good but won't kill performance.

I was pretty much set on the ADR Cypher's I don't know how much they weigh, but they look really nice and fit my price range (under 2k with wheels and tires) and fit the criteria of what I'm looking for. Simple and clean with a nice big lip.

Then I came across these, I talked to the guys and they said that they weight 26lbs in front and 2-3lbs more for the rears just for the wheel. It has a 2.5" lip in front and 3.5" lip in the rear and has a 35mm offset. He quoted me basically $1700 + shipping for 18x8.5 with Falken 235/40/18 and then 18x9.5 with Falken 265/35/18.

Here is pictures of them, I really love the lip on them but 26-30lbs for just wheels are very heavy arn't they? They come in Chrome, Hyper Black and Silver finish. I think the Hyper black with that chromed lip would look good on my 7.

35 mm offset is going to make the front wheel tooo flush with the fender. believe me i have that offset 18x8.5 infront. and its lowered by 1.5 inch it scrapes when i make a turn and hit any change in elevation, even doh i rolled my fenders. you want more like 40mm or maybe even 38mm. but 40 is best. hey tell him you want wider rubber in back 275 35 18

you'll want closer to 50 in back with a wheel that wide.

So I did a search and ADR Cyphers are around 23-24lbs each, the Ruff Racing wheels are around 26-30lbs each. Is that going to take a lot away from HP/Performance or what? I still want the car to be quick, but I want the car to look good too. Like I don't use the car for racing, but every now and then I need a quick acceleration to pass someone, will these wheels still allow me to do that or will they hold me back a noticable difference.

They work perfectly fine. I have the same brand however different style from that same company. I just got them couple of days ago. I got 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear 35mm offset. They work perfectly fine, however my car does not have springs or hasn't been lowered yet so they work good stock i'll elt u know when i get it lowered.

what do you think of the wheels? Can you notice any slowishness with the car with the wheels? How does everything feel?

ADR is crap.
FD's deserve better rims than ADR.

what tire size are your running on your fronts? How much have you drivin it that you know that "they work perfectly fine"?

people always worry about the "costs" of these cars but do things that can self induce more damage that could have been easily avoided by looking at fitment of wheels and tires PRIOR to purchase.

If you don't have much to spend, you might want to look into a set of used wheels. Check out the gallery at www.rbmotoring.com

Buy my wheels, less than 300 miles on them. Comes with tires and they are 18s.

Check the wheels/tires for sale forum.
