Kumho Ecsta V710
Hello,
Hmm.. I just found out that Tirerack has start selling this new race rubber. They only have sizes for 17 inch and limited 18inches.
Anyone has them? Any experience?

Wow. That looks like a Hoosier R3S03 with Kumho badging? Any idea on performance and wear characteristix? Weight? Nice combo with the SSR Comp. I'd dig 9.5 x 17 Comp with 255/40-17 V710s!

Lots of discussion on this tire in other forums. Different compound, new tire design. Scotty White tested these tires at PIR and he & his team were on average 1.5 secs faster on the V710's. They also were about 0.5 second faster on a 25-second auto-x course. Looks like this tire will be something else.
Hoosier officials have said that the new A3SO4 is only a stiffer sidewall design with the same compound. I wonder which tire will be faster. Hopefully, Kumho will avoid getting leapfrogged again ..... also take note of the V710 pricing. Very nice.

I am curious how serious Kumho is about the "one race weekend" bit? I imagine they are trying to say they are faster than hoosiers for the first 6-8 heat cycles, I will go check the vancouver motorsports club, and see what they know. Carl
