Koni Yellows...

I have Koni yellows on one of my cars. and have a question about them.

If I leave them on the full stiff or near full stiff settings all the time will they wear out any faster?

full stiff! damn! i had mine on full soft almost all the time.

whether its full stiff or full soft probably won't affect the shock's wear.

No. What wears inside a shock are seals and these see wear anytime the shaft moves. The damping won't change their rate of wear.

how many turns is full firm?

also, fc-specific question: what does the install involve on those konis? I know some konis require some cutting/drilling/welding and interchanging with the stock parts.

do they have more than 1 groove for the spring perch ring for height adjustment? if so, how many? and how far apart are they? thanks!!

Well, mine are on a miata. Since I was replacing the springs and mounts (for extra travel) it was really easy, exept on the front where I used the stock mounts which had a 10mm hole and the konis were 12mm (rear mounts came with 12mm hole already) fairly simple install scince I removedthe whole assembly and installed in a whole assembly. Mine have 3 grooves, stock (top groove), billistien (second grove), and some other name onthe bottome groove. Check racing beat they should have the shocks and all your answers.

Approximately 2.5 turns lock-to-lock.

Rears are practically drop in.
Fronts are another matter!
You need to "gut" a stock type stock, cause you need the bottom housing.
By drilling a hole of the bottom of that housing, the Koni strut is inserted and secure via a stud on the bottom.

No, you're thinking FD's.
FC's don't have this option.

FCs dont have that option? wow. You could take it to a machine shop and have them machine new grooves for a lower ride. Just be carefule that you dont lower it too much because you can kill all suspention travel and be losing traction because of hitting the bumpstops.
