Just installed HKS HiperMax Damper II

I just installed the a new set on the HKS suspension on my car and I thought I would let you know how they turned out. Well for starters they all ready come pre assembled which is a bonus unlike the Tein which are a great setup but the initial setup can be a real pain in the butt if you know what I mean. I have had a couple different sets on other cars and you have to assemble them and then put the tires back on and then re-adjust them so it can be a pain when your working on the ground without a lift. Anyways they go on without a hitch and are preset to a perfect ride hieght and make the car look so much better now even with the stock wheels which hopefully will be switched out for some Volk GT-C's in Spark Silver as soon as they are in stock at Mackin Industries. The ride quality is awesome. Right now I have them set as soft as possible the way they came and they drive like a new car, but with them set as soft as they are they still out perform the stock R-1 suspenion thats was on the car so I can't imagine how good its going to feel when I have some time to tune a bit more and take out on the twisties. So I give them a big thumbs up and would recomned them to anyone who is shopping around for a new full coilover suspension. I also installed the '99 lip spoiler which looks incredible with the new lower look, I'll have to get some pics up very soon.

yea dont hear to many people running the HKS coilover setup but i would assume their coilovers a quality since they are made by HKS and they are one of the more expensive coilovers on the market.

so are you saying that the hipermax on the softest setting is still a stiffer/harsher ride then the r1 showa shocks or are they about the same with better handling chacterastics?

mazdaspeed00-

on the softest settings its just like the stock r-1 suspension but maybe just a tad softer if anything. which is nice becasue you have so much more points of adjustments to fine tune the suspension. the quality is number one in my book. i had a supra with it pretty much decked out in all hks stuff. it was a rolling bill board for them. never had one problem with anything including the suspension, even made that pig handle pretty good
