JIC FLT-A2 installed on FC

Jus installed my JIC the other day....though I'd throw up some pics....i think that the rims i'm running rite now are the wrong offset cause you can see a slight rubbing spot on one of the front springs, but i checked and there is clearance (about .5 cm).

after running lime creek w/ my Tokico shocks and racing beat springs that my car came with, and then the JIC FLT-A2 w/ a setting of 8 clicks all around, all i have to say is there is no comparison. The JIC totally outclasses the old setup. So much less pitch in the car around corners and you can feel and unbelievable difference during the turn-in. My friend andrew (in the maroon 240) is also running the same FLT-A2, which is the main reason i got JIC for my car. I'm still experimenting w/ what the optimal settings for the suspension are for this type of driving rite now. I really hope to get more feedback during the Nov. 30th RX-7 focus day.

here's a pic of the old Tokico 5-way adjustables w/ racing beat springs vs. the JIC(front coilovers shown). Notice how much shorter the JIC is than the old setup...eliminates a lot of travel from the suspension.

My Tein HAs with pillow/camber that are now on my s13.
Coilovers utilizing true short stroke shocks are so much better than regular shock/spring combos.

Do you go to school at UT? I think I saw a car that looked like yours when I was in town for the UNT vs Texas game.

Cheers! ...... The Springs are JIC as well...8k up front w/ 6k in rear, and yes they are linear.

DriftinJim...are your Tein's running a smaller spring on bottom there to keep tension on the mains? How do you like your setup?

Trinity Rx7.....yes...I go to UT Austin. What day was the UT vs UNT game? probably was my car.

Yup, they're the ****. Just got them for my protege5 as well. Can't wait til tommorrow.

No helper springs required on the FLT-A2. hehe. And it's a monotube as opposed to tein's twin tube HA.

Great write up. Thanks nat.

Only if you're not secure with your sexuality. hehe. j/k.

The first set of JIC's were black springs, now lavender. I don't know what to say. I wish they were still black. Sorry no options there. You can Zinc plate them. that'll look pretty cool.

I am from Rowlett in Dallas. My best friend plays for North Texas so I came down from school in Arkansas for the game. And like a true fan of these cars I noticed yours in the lot and thought it was very nice.

He he, I got the black springs!

Is there a difference between the kits w/ black and lavender springs? I mean, I know JIC has re-valved the kits for American use (wussified-I'm sure) Is there a chance the black spring is pre-wussification? I guess I'm just hoping

No not at all. Although wishful thinking. I'm sure those can be plenty stiff for you. I haven't even tried to go over 7 clicks, depending on wheel weight and diameter. Do remember that you can have them turned into a race spec if you like.

I too got the black ones, hehe. the purple, no idea where it came from. The rest of my FC's are gonna get the Barney springs though. I've accepted that.

Laters, Rishie
