J-AUTO FD inner tie rods

Questions about inner tie rods pop up frequently. Rather than answer these questions individually, I figured this post will help others in the future. I know a large number of us have purchased tie rods for our early FDs and didn't realize the thread difference until the car was taken apart

I couldn't find fine thread inner tie rods for my early '94 FD and for my customer's 93 FDs without buying tie rods and lock washers individually from the dealer ($$$). Every major parts distributor/manufacturer that I came in contact with only listed, and sold, coarse thread inner tie rods and swore they fit all 1993-2002 RX-7s. Because of this, I decided to take matters into my own hands and released J-AUTO fine thread inner tie rods. These are quality direct replacements which work/install just like the factory tie rods and work with all FD outer tie rod ends.

As far as I can tell, fine thread came on 1993 FDs until 04/1994. Newer FDs had coarse thread inner tie rods. The thread difference is only at the steering rack end while the outer tie rod end side retained the same thread for all years (1993-2002). Coarse thread inner tie rods are also available through my website but it's always a good idea to try and verify which thread you need beforehand.

Tie rods are available through my website www.j-auto.net. Hope this info helps

Thanks for this Juan, I went thru the same turmoil last year with 3 different sets of aftermarket ones that all said they'd fit.

Hi Johnny. I don't have any deals going on at this time. If you're on Facebook, like my page www.facebook.com/jauto to stay updated with sales and new products.

My FD has a little more miles than yours (17x,xxx) but I just replaced inners and outers while I had the rack out for a rebuild. I'm not sure if the inners were original or not but they were lose. Track miles probably had something to do with it

Thank you. Now my customers won't think I'm trying to rip them off with genuine Mazda prices on these
