Installing Tokiko Illuminas 93 FD ( REAR )
hello ! well I'm replacing my 93 shell's shocks I have a set of Illuminas with eibach springs .. taking the shocks out was easy except for me accidentally removing one tomany nuts from the OEM shocks which made it a bit difficult , but then I putit back and everything worked out fine LOL ...
Now My dad was giving me a hand with the shocks .. and we ran into 2 issues ..
issue number 1 after I put the shocks in place I realize that the bottom of hte rear tokiko shocks is sort of offset , and I dont know if the offset should be angled inward or outward.. or if there is only one way it will fit .. it got dark and my brain was tired .
SECOND issue after I positioned the driverside rear shock ( before realizing the offset thing ) my dad released the center bolt which causes the shock to extend to make it easier to reach the control arm? well basically where it goes haha .. I've done shocks on my miata .. But on the miata we used an impact gun to tighten that bolt then sort of forced the rear control arm in with leg muscle .. which is hte correct way ? and is it ok to re tighten that same bolt with a ratched after we finish ? or do I need to take it out and re tighten it using our impact air gun? and force the control arm to meet the shock?
thanks for any and all advice as it is all welcome.
