Angry Inside the brake res. is dirty

So I posted this in the 2nd gen area, but I think this is better suited here.

So inside my brake res is dirty as crap. There's all this black gunk in it. I'm sure that its traveled everywhere else inside the brakes as well. How can I flush this out.

I've got some speed bleeders on there so I don't mind using those (Everyone needs to get some. WAY worth the 12 bucks or w/e it costs to get them) I just don't know what to use. Any suggestions?

Thanks

For future reference. Brake fluid should be changed every 2 years or 30k. It is hygroscopic(meaning it absorbs water).

As far as using the bleeders. You bleed the brakes in the following order.

RR/LR/RF/LF
Keep the reservoir full during the process of getting all the fluid out.
Take a piece of tubing(clear works well) put it over the speedy bleeder and put the tubing in a jar (glass or metal). Crack open the bleeder and pump the brakes until you get clean fluid out of the RR. Close the bleeder and proceed with the rest of the bleeders until there is clean fluid coming out of all.

Just remember to keep filling the reservoir up between each one.

Yeah I know that. I've done that several times, but the inside of the res. is still dirty. All of the stuff is stuck to the insides of the res.

Is there some kind of chemical that I can put in there to clean it off?

meh i'd just buy a new reservoir from autozone

i've tried to get a reservoir clean when installing a fresh master
but even running a hose through it full blast doesn't get it perfectly spotless

i suppose you could let it soak in a simple green / purple power / etc solution but i'd be worried about the cleaning agents getting into the brake system

imo just drain the reservoir with a turkey baster (or open a bleeder and pump out the fluid) and pull it off the mc completely. clean at your leisure. a spare is desirable and cheap to avoid downtime. this way theres also not much worry about damaging any rubber seals.

been doing fine btw. my 240sx is less janky now. efini crashed her FC about a year ago and we are now in the process of putting on a new front end and painting the entire car with spray cans, but in a non janky way. so far its looking good. 10 foot paintjob and we havent buffed and waxed yet. helps that its white. after that, 5th and 6th port cleaning, basic maintenance and one bracket needs to be replaced. the fc should be back on the road after that.
