i have 5x112 wheels and 5x114 hubs...is it safe to run?
i have recently aquired a set of work ewing wheels that are 5x112. i need these to install on the 5 lug swap on my 1st gen, which is 5x114. well i figurd i could just get them filled an redrilled, well, i cant find ANYONE to do it that isnt way out of state. i need to be able to run these wheels by the end of the month or i have to buy another set, for Deal's Gap. i test fitted the wheels to my hubs and they fit on the hubs. the only problems were that the studs were up against the outer parts of the lug wholes. it fit flush to the hub and everything,it just didnt slide off as easily as a 5x114 wheel would. i was going to use shank style lug nuts, but i think regular would work better in this situation. if i got lug nuts and got them on there tight do you think itd be safe to run these wheels? it wouldnt be for long, just until i got them fixed. BUT i would be taking the car to the Deal's Gap neet in about a moth to drive the tail of the dragon. i dont want something to **** up and possibly hurt my girlfriend and i. any feedback is greatly appreciated.

i took the inserts out today and tried mounting the wheels to the hubs, wont work. the wheel isnt centered. ive tried to call machine shops and im calling some more tomorrow. if i cant get them machine or find a way, then i guess ill have to buy another set of wheels.

im not going to run them. im ordering another set tomorrow or so. i will just have to hold off on running these wheels till i can get them filled and redrilled. a teacher at a local college that teaches a CNC class told me itd probably be around $500...for just two. i dont think thatll be the case. i just need to find a wheel shop thatll do it

what lug pattern did your wheels start out as? what did they end up as? thanks
