My wheels weren't as heavy, compared to competition wheels as I thought.

Mine are the BLITZ wheels

I'm happy to see my SSR Competitions in 8.5 and 9.5 x 17s are on the lightweight side...which are the wheels I run for the race track. The spreadsheet lists the both at <16 lbs...I weighed the 8.5s and 9.5s at 15 and 16 lbs, respectively...

The Integrals are heavier than a I thought in 9 x 17 size (almost 19 lbs!)...definitely tailored for the road...but still fairly light for such a large road wheel!

They don't have my POS Neeper N-7's on there! Oh wait, thats because they weigh like 124 lbs apiece.

BTW, no I didn't buy them, they were on the car when I bought it!

The Neepers would make great canopy pole bases!

I had read an article for the new Z5 that BBS will introduce their new wheels for this car. It will be 1/3 the weight of the current wheels.

Damn...thats light!

SSF=Semi-solid Forging. Basically a form of "hot forging" that is in between pressure casting and cold forging. Not as strong as cold forging because the heat anneals the metal somewhat and this cancels out the cold working, but cheaper because you don't need as much pressure.

Yep, yep...not quite true forging, but you get nearly similar results...FWIW, I don't ever plan to run my Comps on the road, for fear of bending them...not that I "DON'T" trust the SSF method, but I haven't heard of very many enthusiasts running around with Comps on the road...the Comps really are meant for racing...

I have those same ghetto N-7 neepers on mine too! Mine also came with the car. I didn't think there would be more than one sicko who would put those on a 7...

I'm getting rid of them soon hopefully...

That was a cool site! The Racing Hart CP035, Fiske Mach V and Volk TE37 are some of the lightest and were wheels I was looking at.

I was suprised that Mugen and RUF were heavy wheels (Honda & Porsche).

Anyhow the best part is the fine print stuff that mentions tire weight. I would never have thought of that. The Toyo T1-S are light and the Bridgestone S-03 are heavy.
