How wide of tire/rim?

What size tire and wheel would you recommend for an FD putting down over 450 rwhp?

Can you fit a 275 on a 9" rim? I'm looking at getting the RPM2s but 9" is as wide as they go. 255 up front, 275 in the rear, 17x9 all around?

275 fits on a 9.5, looks funny on a 9.

What tires choice would you recommend if I went with the 17"x9" RPM2s all around?

I got around 460rwhp and I can't spin out second with nitto 555 275's(10 inch) in the rear. First gear always spins out, but second I can chirp them.

I drove a Z-06 with Nitto 555R tires on it recently and they seemed very sticky, even compared to the sticky stock tires that come on the Z-06. I bet some 255/40-17 555R tires on 9x17" wheels would be a very nice setup -- good grip, neutral balance, and you can rotate the tires. You might still be able to spin them in second gear, though. 275s in the rear should give you some more grip, but I'm not sure anything is going to hold >450RWHP, though. I think choosing sticky tires is at least as important as choosing a large size, though, so keep that in mind when selecting tires. Sticky + large will give you the most traction, and you will need all that you can get with that much power.

18x10 with a 275 35 18 looks good or a 12x18 with a 335 30 18 .but must have a wide body for the 12 .18 x9 245 40 18 in the front . go with the nito 555. good all around tire . but rim and tire size and wheel look is very personal

If its 17's you're looking for and you obviously have a taste for Enkie, I recommend the GT-V 17x9F 17x10R with the above stated 555R's. I must warn you, though, the GT-V's will run you about $450 each, but they look mean and they are wide.

I like the Enkei because they are lightwieght compared to other mesh rims that i've looked at. Also, they are pretty cheap. I was going with a 17" of an 18" because i've read that an 18" rim will hinder performance.

This is what im running.. 255s front, 275s rear....

some people run 285s on a 10" but 275 is generally a more guarenteed fit without rubbage

Any of you guys with Pettit flares and 335's have pictures? I'm thinking about using some on my car when I do my body work this winter, but I haven't decided yet. Was going to do a widebody but I couldn't find any that I really liked enough to pay so much for. Pettit flares look great molded in and parts are not ridiculous. I'm still deciding for front fender options to match them with though.
