how low can i go?

how low can i go on my fc using 18x7.5 wheels all the way around?
i saw lowering springs that would drop the car 2.0 inches. would that be too much of a drop?
i'll be using 225/40/18 tires.i want to make sure i have no problems with rubbing. i want to make sure i know before i purchase the springs. maybe a pic or 2 of a similar set-up would be nice, thank you.

Don't be intimidated by wheel size, it's the total diameter that counts. I don't know the answer to your question but the total diameter of a 225/40/18 is 25.09in. The total for a 225/50/16 is 24.86in, .23in less. That's less than an 1/8th in. more on either end for the 18. Pretty darn close. Knowing that, if you look around a little you might find the info you need.

Thanks, I know. That why I said I didn't know the answer. It doesn't change the tire size.
