How hard is it to polish the lip?

I'm still in a quandry over wheels... There are so many options out there that it's damn near driving me nuts.

My question lies in this; I'm wondering how hard, and how $$$ it would be to polish the lips on a set of Rota Circuit 8's. I don't know if they are painted or powercoated from the factory, but they are all one color.

Going from looking like this:

to looking something like this...

It would cost more than the wheels. hehe. I believe it's much easier to strip the whole wheel, polish the lip, and then paint the center. I am sure this is how it's done.

ok, switching thoughts to the exact opposite...

How much $$ woudl it cost to paint the centers gunmetal? (since the Subzeros come silver w/ a polished lip, you coudl start w/ those...)

And I'm not talking krylon here. Paint & clearcoat that will stand up to normal road use.

You're best bet is to have them powdercoated.. I'd think around 2-300 for the set from prices I've checked.. But I am sure some more people here have experiance with it..

Check for threads on powdercoating.
People have asked about polished lips and from what others have said it's quite difficult to get a polsihed lip when powdercoating.
