How do I protect new rims

I just purchased 5Zigens new ProRacer GN+ rims for my 94 FD. The rims are Mat Silver and chip if you look at them. They chip like cermic tile with any contact. 5Zigen has already replaced one rim under warranty. My question is easy, other than bubble wrap, how do I protect these rims going forward. Is there any clear coating, wax, or other substance I can put on them. My feeling is that if I don't do something, these rims are going to look like s**t after 5,000 miles. Thaks

Honestly, it sounds like a cheap finish, which can be infuriating. If they are litterally chipping with small stone/road debris and not actual curb impacts, then I doubt wax will do much for you.

You might just want to use them until they become unnacceptably bad, then send them out and have them stripped and powdercoated. It's not like matte silver is a tough finish to replicate like black chrome or something. I've seen various forum members indicating that they can do it pretty cheaply.
