How do I improve the ride

I have an old 84 GSL. It's all street legal without any speacial suspension modifications. The ride is stiff and occasionally I get some clunking and creaking over bumps. Left front side rides a little low, probaly driver side front spring.

What can I do to soften the ride and smooth things out? Want to be able to drive it comfortably in the city.

I would like to know this as well.

I have been shopping for some springs and I think I am going to go with the HP shocks but I don't want to much of a drop on the springs and would rather have a pregressive springs rather than linear.

Can anyone make some suggestions since there are several on the market?

creaking and clunking usually points to worn out bushings. bushings actually make a pretty big difference.
