How do I find "Brake Caliper Overhang"?

Since the racing brake kit will not be done in time for my first outing, I have been spending lots of time researching other available options for front brake kits. My track wheels are 17 x 9.5 forgeline rs and I would like to see if the '99 rz calipers will work up front.

I have dug up old threads where it was determined the rz fronts require 43mm of "caliper overhang". For example- https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=brakes
What I could not find is the definition or how to measure caliper overhang. Can somebody point me in the right direction, a sketch would be real nice?

I would assume they will fit, the stoptech template fits with a good amount of room and I have ~ 1.125" of clearance from the stock caliper to inside of the spoke.

TIA-Garrett

It's how much the caliper sticks out past the face of the hub where the wheel would mount.

In the pic below "A" is the caliper overhang.

^Perfect, thank you. Unfortunately for me, it looks like it may be too close for comfort with the '99 setup.

I would be very surprised if the 99s required more brake clearance than the Stoptechs....VERY surprised.
