Question HKS Hipermax III Coilovers

i am looking to change my suspension out for coilovers and have narrowed it down to the hks hipermax III kit for the FD. just wondering who has this on their FD and what their experience has been. any feedback is appreciated.

thanks,

binz

Binz,

HKS makes some of the best coilovers, period. Superior to tein in every-way, albeit they are quite expensive. Great ride quality and street-ability, yet still a great coilover for the track. Is this for a street or track car? Their are definitely better options in that $1600 range if you went used, I could get you a pair of Ohlins PCV, Quantumn or Aragosta which all retail close to $3300 except for the Ohlins.

In conclusion, for availability in the North America market, it is very hard to beat HK$ products. You get what you pay for, and that is a very very import adage for the FD.

i'll be using it mostly for street but want something that can handle the periodic track day. i know ohlins is top-notch but wasn't aware they made a kit for the FD; what is your setup and what do you use it for?

i prefer new over used...

for what my needs from the car are, i feel the HKS is good value. what does ohlins kit go for?

thanks for the feedback

Ohlins makes two sets of coilovers for the FD. The PCV which is there more street model and there DFV model which is more geared for the track. If you want I can double check the spring rates. They are very expensive new, I can get a used set with minimal miles for $1800 shipped for the dfv and 1550 shipped for the pcv. Might take a few weeks to source.
