Arrow Hey will these WOrk VSxx fit my FD?

Hey Guys just curious if these rims will fit my FD. Suspension wise the car is stock, no rolled fenders either. I do have a set of Tein Springs which lower the car, but ill think about those after i get the wheels i want. The rim dimensions are:

Work VS-XX
17x8+17 17x9+21

Thanks guys, appreciate it.

NOPE! And it would be silly to put an 8 in front.

They'll fit with a little stretchy tire action. You're adding an effective 1.5" to the outside of the front, so those fenders might need a little massage to go with it. You're adding about 1.75" to the outside of the rear.

Awesomke thanks guys.

HEy Dk how would you go about figuring out the extra dimensions(ie. 1.75 inhes to the rear etc.) Thanks.

I seriously suggest you take a look at the handling links. Those wheels offsets are waaaay too far out to use on an fd.

Use the jimlab FD calculator at the top to figure out offset, proper backspacing etc.

He was assuming you stretch a tire on to those wheels. If you run a skinny tire those offsets will fit with a bit of fender rolling.

Thank you.

That Jimlab calculator is helpful if you want American styling, but I don't think it assumes the ability to stretch tires and go hella flush.

Start with 215 on the front, 235 on the rear.

So you wanna figure out how much width you're adding... Here's how I do it.

Stock wheels are 8" wide, +50mm offset.

1 inch is approximately 25mm (it's actually 25.4mm)

So for the fronts you're looking at, they're also 8" wide. So we only need to consider the difference in offset here. A lower offset means the mounting surface is closer to the centerpoint of the wheel. (A 0 offset means it's dead center). The 17mm offset means the outside edge of the wheel is pushed out much farther than a 50mm offset of the same width. So really you just need to subtract and convert.

50mm - 17mm= 33mm. That's about 1.25"... I overshot it a little when I said 1.5"

The rear requires one more calculation because they're wider. Stock rears are the same as the fronts, 8" wide, +50mm offset. You're considering 9" wide.

So subtract the offsets again... 50mm - 21 mm = 29mm. That's a little over an inch. However, you also need to consider that this wheel is an inch wider, or from the centerpoint where the offset is measured from, it's 0.5" wider (on each side). You need to add 0.5" to what we figured earlier... so approximately 1.75".

Here's the simple formula for how much wider your wheels will stick out on the outside edge:

[[Factory (or current) offset - New offset] / 25 mm/in] + 0.5*[New width - Factory (or current) width]

The rears will clear no problem, you could probably even do 255's with some slight fender work. Those fronts I just dont think are going to work well, get something wider with a little higher offset, like 9J+30 and run 235's.

for the record i am running 17x9 +18 all around with 235 40 on the front and 255 40 on the back. my front fenders are rolled but not pulled, same with the rear. I don't have a crazy alignment to get them to fit either. If i wanted to lower the car i'd need widebody fenders in the front, but running 25in measured ground to fender arch it does not rub even under heavy load.

He has flares in that photo in his sig. 275 sounds very beefy to fit on that wheel under the stock rear quarters.
