Exclamation Help: FD Wheel and Tire Size

Hi,

Since some members seem to have an idea of how to calculate appropriate rim and tire widths and offsets, I was wondering if any of you could help me out. I'm currently running 245/35/18 with a 9" width in front and 275/35/18 with 10"width in the rear. I'm in the process of purchasing 19" wheels for both the front and rear and already put my deposit down for the front and rear fenders off the burnout kit. My question is assuming an approximately 1" (20mm) increase in width from the fenders in both the front and rear would I be able to run 10" width in the front and 11" width in the rear? I've been told that if I run 19x10 in front it will have to be a +25 offset and with 19x11 in the rear it will be a +35 offset. Do these numbers seem right? Oh and my car is dropped an 1" in the front and 1.25" in the rear. Please if you know anything let me know.

Also, regarding tires, I would like to wrap these wheels in a 265/30/19 and 295/30/19 ideally. Can anyone tell me if this sizes seem appropriate without having to do any serious modifications.

Oh, I forgot to mention, since I'm spending quite a bit of money on these wheels I would like the fitment to be completely flush with the fenders. Please take that into consideration.

Thanks,

Riz

You will have better fitment options with 18" wheels.

Assuming you want to take advantage of the widebody fenders:

front: 18x10, +40 offset, 285/30 tires
rear: 18x11, +38 offset, 295/30 or 305/30 tires

With 19s, more extreme and limiting fitment options:

front: 19x10, +40 offset, 255/30 or 265/30 tires
rear: 19x11, +38 offset, 275/30 or 315/25 tires

Hey Rynberg, for the rear numbers with a 19" wheel won't 275/30 be stretching the tire? Would it be possible to do 295/30/19 in the rear, instead? Thanks in advance.

A 275/30 on an 11" wheel is within recommended fitment parameters, but it may look slightly stretched, depending on tire brand. A 295/30 19 is a full 1" taller than stock, that is quite a bit.

If you were going to go 19s, I would definitely go WIDE....315/25. I think 18s are a better fitment, and will have better ride quality, better straightline traction, better wheel durability, more tire choices, and cheaper tire choices. The wheels would be cheaper too.

Hey Rynberg, it seems like you're really an advocate for me getting 19's......lol. In any case, I was just wondering if you could help me with one little problem. Regarding the offset numbers I posted in my first post on this thread ( + 25 front, and +35 rear), I received those number from ARD T2 (Rishie) fromt Auto RnD. I actually ordered my first set of rims from him (18s) and the fitment was perfect. I just wanted to know why he would suggest those numbers and if you believe those will work? Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.

Oh and I forgot to mention I basically provided him with the same information I posted above, so I'm just wondering if you could explain to me if those number seem right and how he might have come up with them. Thanks

He just went more aggressive than me, that's all. You can trust Rishie on his fitment info, that's for sure!

18x10 +50 just barely fits with stock fenders and coilovers, with a 1" widebody, you could stretch that to 18x10 +25. I tend to be conservative in fitments, that's why I recommended the +40. +25 will be flush, +40 will be more tucked inside (about 1/2").

His rear recommendation is only 3mm off of mine, which is a pretty small difference. Again, his is just a hair more aggressive than mine.

Thanks for all the help, Rynberg. I just needed one last question answered. Will it be possible for me to run 285/30/19 in the rear will the aforementioned wheel widths, sizes, and offset? Let me know. Thanks.

Yeah, they'll fit but they will be an inch taller than stock diameter. Better to just go nuts and run 315/25s....

I've decided to take your suggestion and get 315/25/19 in the rears. I shouldn't have any fitment problems with this setup, correct? Anyways, thanks for all the advice, it was EXTREMELY helpful and I appreciate it.
