Hawk HPS or HP Plus

I am fixxing to purchase some brake pads and can't seem to decide wich to get.The car probably won't see any track time though I may decide to autocross next summer I can't say I will for sure.I thought I saw on here that the HP+ dust bad. What is rotor life like compared to the HPS.All opinions on these two pads would be greatly apreciated.

Check out the hawk website and it should be clear. HP+ will wear your rotors down in quite a hurry, since you're not planning on doing any track stuff just get the HPS it will suit your needs just fine. (And hold up for a couple track events if you do choose to go)

I think what you really need is a set of cross drilled and slotted brembo rotors, and I happen to have a brand new set for sale

I use HP+ for street and autox. My rotors are doing very well but the pads do dust badly. Have done over 15 events and over 10K on the same pads and rotors; wear on both seems to be very good. Love the pedal feel and the grip of the pads.

HP+ Fr/Carbotech Panther Rr

HP Plusses front and Carbotech Panthers rear for street setup. Track setup Hawk Blacks front and Carbotech Panthers rear. HP Plusses dust more on the road, than the Blacks do on the track--Ironic ain't it? Carbotech Panthers also dust.

Brake dust is life in the fast lane. If you want no dust, don't drive the car...just trailer it to all the shows with AARotary

I'm running HP+ on my 93 R1, I auto-x a lot, about 15 events/yr. I've run the HP+ for two years now, they work great for auto-xing and one event I do is about 4 min, never any fade. I haven't done track events yet and I don't think they'd be good enough for the track driving agressively. The rotors seem to be fine, a little bit of a wear groove after ~15K miles, not bad at all though. They DUST LIKE MAD.

I also have had a couple FDs that I put HPS on, the HPS don't dust nearly as bad and feel the same as the HP+ on the street. I think the HPS should work fine for street and auto-x use.

Don't get the cross drilled rotors if you plan to auto-x competitively, they won't help your braking in auto-x at all and they will throw you in Prepared, a race car only class.

Well I decided on the HPS.They sounded like they would work fine for my purposes.Maybe I'll try the HP Pluses next time. Thanks for all your replies.Anybody ordered them for a FC from tire rack.I told them I had a Turbo as to limit confusion and made sure they knew I had the Vented rears.

I already have recieved them. They came in Monday when my tires did. They appear to be the right ones.I've never seen the pads that go in the single piston front and it has been about three years since I changed my fronts but from what I remember they look right.I will check those places out though, see what all they have.
