Gram Light 57 pros on my FD
Does anyone have stats on the weights. Just went to www.upgrademotoring.com. Offset don't seem favorable as well--guess that's why you had to roll the fenders.
hey rc, where did you get your info? I checked out that site, but I didn't see anything.
my car started catching even with the stock wheels, that's why I rolled the fenders, I really doubt it has anything to do with the offset. If I remember correctly, it is the standard offset recommended by rays. Rishie will probably chime in here with more info than I can give.
Also read the rest of my posts, ride height is lowered 2"

The recommended wheel fitment for the rear would be the 9". But since Greg's car was in the body shop we had the fenders rolled and were able to run the 10's to acheive the larger lip.
The wheels are approx 20-22lbs. As posted before you could probably run the 9's all the way around with a 245/35/18 and not have problems. For those looking for a symmetrical setup.
As for price, $2050.00 sounds like a good deal to me. Just depends on what tires and It's impossible to run 265/35/18's all the way around on this wheel due to it's lack of offset options. To really assess whether you got a good deal one would need to know exactly what widths, diameters you got, and what tire brand you were quoted on.
THanks, Rishie

See link for offsets (too bad):

You see when you are chasing real good drivers (SleepR1) with huge 275s in the rear on a race track you will need the biggest and light tires. Oh, in my mind 245s aren't sufficient for my increasing speeds at the track. Still looking for the magical combination of lightness, sizing options, aesthetics, and price. The gram lights sort of remind me of my fav wheels (Fikse FM/5).
Rishie, pm for price on 17x10 all around with 52 mm offset (I have 2.5 " coilovers). I've never really asked for a price b/c I'm just afraid of the actual quote.
SleepR1/Manny: Like I mentioned before all those crazy-hot women at the F1 race at Indy were definitely not Colombian

Manny, CE28s seem to be the right stuff, however, not particularly attractive. Does anyone have a real good pic of them in silver. All I ever see is the bronze version--sorry for straying off the main topic (gram lights).
If I buy them will you buy them from me in a year?

Awhh, shucks...Ramon, you're making me blush...we did have fun running together at Road America didn't we (hee hee)!? Hope to see you at the March 22, 2003, MDC Putnam Park event. I'm seeing if the Midwestern Rx7 Forum members want to do a track event on Sunday March 23, 2003 to serve as the "centerpiece" for the Midwest Rx7 Meet?
Well, ok--maybe the hot F1 babes weren't Columbian, but I still wanna meet your sister. Bring her along to the March 2003 MDC event. I need an event spokes model, and I think she'd fit the bill
I recently drove Putnam Park (last Saturday, Nov 9 MDC) with my 255/40-17 Yokohama AVS I's mounted on 9 x 17, 45-mm offset SSR Integral A2s (road setup). The setup was beautifully balanced, but I got the car out of shape more than once, especially with cold road tires, because I was accustomed to mashing the gas pedal as soon as I turned into a corner...gotta squeeze on the power with skinnier tires in back
I think if you want the widest possible tires on your FD, and your car is equipped with 2.5-inch coils/shocks, then the 10 x 18 (2-inch offset) CCW P4 Mesh wheels wrapped with 285/30-18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Comps is your ticket. Actually you should try getting a set of five, so you can fit a full-size spare in back when you travel to the drivers ed events. I'm betting the 11.2-inch wide by 24-inch diameter CCW wheel/Michelin will fit in back with the 16-inch temp spare out of the car!
I see that you're going with 10 x 17, 52-mm offset. The 17-inch size can be problematic, as 275/40-17s are typically taller than a 285/30-18. The Hoosier R3S03 is the best choice for a 275/40-17, since the overall tire diameter is 25.3 inches (only 0.3 inches taller than stock). Of course you could still go with 255/40-17 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Comps, as that tire is 11.1 inches wide when mounted on a 10 x 17. That tire is at stock overall diameter of 25 inches, which will be perfect dimensionally.
Or you could go with a staggered CE28N with 9.5 x 17 front and 10.5 x 18 rear. Tires would be 255/40-17 front, and 285/30-18 rear, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Comps...

Ramon,
FritzFlynn still has Fikse FM-10s for sale...255/40-17 Toyo T1-Ses on 9 x 17, 45-mm offsets...They're perfect for road or track...I'd buy them myself, but I need a new motor, turbos, and injectors!

Rceron -
I found a photo of a silver CE28N (not on a car- sorry) along with all the other nice Volk wheels. One day....one of these wheels will be mine!

Yeah, the bottom right is the silver CE28N...I think it will look fine with a center cap if you plan to run on the road. As a racing wheel wheel, I think you'll be hard pressed to top the CE28N's light weight and the availability of widths and offsets for our FD Rx7s

Yeah, that thing looks pretty bad. It's kind of hard to tell though-- did they widen the rear bodywork? Too dark for me to see...
Check out the difference in spoke curvature between the front & rear.
